Ikea Restaurant & Cafe

We wanted to express our heartfelt thanks and conratulate Howard at the checkout for being an absolute treasure. We have just returned from a trip to the Croydon store during a visit to our daughter as we are not regular customers. He greeted each and every customer with a joyful and warm welcome, thoughtful ,polite but not overbearing, a fine balance that made us feel very uplifted. Howard is a very special asset to IKEA and I really hope this is known to the powers that be. If I was the owner/CEO of IKEA , I would make this known and reward Howard for this. good old ikea food! if you havent yet, try the plant balls instead of the meaty ones or the fish and chips with tartar sauce. kid’s meals are £1.50 for a very good option and perfect for me as a small adult. the lovely person serving us on a thursday evening gave us big portions and was very nice and patient (he was a young black guy with locks). the lady that we paid with was also very polite (brown haired white lady with her hair in a bun). very polite and helpful staff :-)

OK, I do love IKEA. It's a simply menu with limited choice in canteen style BUT it works. I love the coffee and popping in - can't go wrong with £2 veggie breakfast! If you want toasty hot meal with choice, not the place. You want something to eat that is tasty and doesn't break the bank, then go for it. And of course they're known for their meatballs! There's always someone walking around cleaning tables and the staff have always been super friendly when I'm there.
