Abbots And Kinney Croydon

Such a cute spot for a pastry and coffee! Loved the beef massaman curry pie and almond croissant. Ops Manager Emma was just lovely and told us to be there early so we could see the full range of sweet wonders. They even had a Valentine's Day display with lots of gift options for that special someone.

This used to be a must stop place for me. The last 2 years I have had some of the worst customer service here. Ordering a coffee feels like an awkward interaction, staff preferring if you just didn't come in. We've missed out on getting pastries, in particular pies and savoury items on probably 6 occasions over the last year, doesn't matter what time of day they seem to have run out. Today was ridiculous, we decided to be proactive and arrive around 11.30am, unfortunately none available... Luckily some going in the oven so will be ready in 30min, no problem came back 40minutes later... still need 10 more minutes in the oven. Waited outside then came back in 15minutes later and was told "oh we got the settings wrong on the oven and so they burnt" turns out the baker was not in so no more bakery items for a BAKERY... Giving two stars as when they had food not bad. Terrible service and as a local I won't be returning and encourage other locals to support some of the wonderful other cafes on this street.

Abbots and Kinney in Croydon is a nice addition to local cafes with a great range of sweet pastries, pies and fantastic coffee. I do not I think I have ever had a bad coffee from here, always on point. Their sweet pastries and pies are pretty good and I do like the fact they introduce something new from time to time, which is great if you are looking to try something new. Only minor feedback I have for Abbotts and Kinney is sometimes they are not consistent with the quality of the pastries they serve. Overtime I have noticed the almond croissant is not as good as used to be. Comparison to most places they are still great and much better, but not as good as they used to make them. I'm still going to go to this place as I still love it.
