We went for Sunday lunch yesterday and it was excellent. I rang to book at table early afternoon for about 5pm and they were able to fit the 4 of us in. Most tables were reserved when we got there so definitely worth booking! Only the Sunday Lunch menu was available which suited us fine as that's what we had gone for. Two of us had the beef, one had gammon and the other roast chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection! We all it was the tastiest Sunday lunch we'd had from a pub in a long time. Only one had room for dessert, first choice of Crème Brûlée was sold out but the apple and winter berry crumble was an excellent substitute! There was a fantastic long list of gins on the gin festival menu and I look forward to working my way through them on further visits! All in all we would highly recommend visiting The Greendale Oak, we've always enjoyed it whether it's for lunch, evening meal or a Sunday lunch.
Our party of four had a lovely meal tonight, steaks cooked to perfection, steak and chicken burger so big had to take some home !! Fish pie jam packed with chunks of cod and salmon delish. The bar staff were lovely as ever and the atmosphere smacked of times gone by.
Popped in today, hadn't booked luckily we managed to get a table. Ordered our drinks and food at the same time. We were then left quite a while waiting for our drinks, that long in fact that our food came out first. A young lad I think is name was Jack noticed we had been waiting and quickly sorted our drinks and apologized for our wait. A lovely lad with good customer service skills.
This is a lovely traditional pub. The food is very good, with very generous portions. The service is friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back soon.
The pub is in a lovely location and the seating area outside is beautiful on a summer evening.
We were a party of six, most had a tomahawk steak which to us was over cooked and the others ordered ribeye which was under cooked but actually tasted nice. The staff were friendly.
Great food, fantastic service always with a smile and great friendly banter, lovely atmosphere, definitely recommend, will be going again
Excellent service from the staff, a very pleasant environment, great beer and delicious food. My fish was do succulent and tasty, the batter, thin and crisp and the chips close to perfect. Fantastic.
Had Sunday lunch here. Massive portions, amazing food, everything cooked perfectly. Dog friendly too!
Fantastic choice of food and drink.
Great prices and portion size.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning
Absolutely loved our visit. The pub itself is charming and welcoming. When you walk through the door, it just feels right. The staff are so friendly and pleasant and greet you nicely with a smile. As for the food - it does not disappoint. We went for Sunday roast (great choices available) and the taste and quality was absolutely superb. It was so delicious and you could tell it was freshly cooked, home-made delight on a plate. We didn't want it to end. Everything about it was perfect. It was our first time eating at this pub and it definitely won't be our last. I can't recommend it enough!
Nice pub and beer garden. Warm and friendly atmosphere and nice helpful staff.
The blond pale ale was very well kept and tasty.
Food was reasonably priced and very nice. I fed back that it wasn't overly warm which was explained back to the kitchen staff (it wasn't overly busy at the time of eating) our side dish was also cold and charged as a dearer starter which the waitress amended to the cheaper price of the side with no issues.
Overall very good and we will return for more visits here.
We made a short stop for a meal on a journey from Chorley. The service was excellent, the food v good and the setting relaxing with beautiful flowers in hanging baskets. We would call again.
