Steam, Bake & Grill Restaurant

After a long drive, this is the b3st place to have a rest. Dinner was an Italian buffet. This is one of my favourite food, 😁 was not sure what to choose as they all looked delicious. In the end, I had roasted potatoes, pasta, chicken parmigiano, and tomato meatballs, and dessert was vanilla panna cotta. Oh, and had tomato soup with olive bread, yummy 😋

I love the golf course, lovely views. There was some pond/lake around. Plenty of ground to go for walks. The hotel needs updating, it looked worn out. The restaurant was very busy and could do with more space. The menu could could do with more variety. I went with a few friends and although we all stayed in standard rooms they were all different. No Ac in our room, but the bed was comfortable with condiments. I loved that they had a little games room with unlimited drink and biscuits so you can help yourself to it whenever. I did however enjoy my weekend stay. The staff were lovely although busy.

I have been coming here with my wife since 2015, have seen the changes they have made and love every second we are here, currently here for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and have had nothing but amazing customer service and treated with so much respect, ordered food and had the Chicken Tikka Massala that comes with rice, nann bread and 2 onion bhajis, I demolished the lot and could of eaten a second portion! The curry was better than ordering from an actual Indian restaurant and that isn't a lie! The rooms are spacious and have everything you need in them to make your stay more comfortable, staff are always willing to help you no matter what the issue is! Rooms are clean and presentable! We had 2 beers, a bottle of prosecco on ice, cake and flowers as it was our anniversary. Couldn't recommend a better place! 👌Oh my gosh!! Rooms are nice enough but slightly outdated. No air con, windows barely open and our room was facing out onto a main road. Furniture, fixtures and fittings all just a bit tired, chips, scratches and strains. Cobwebs in corridors, and paint rubbed off stairwell hand rails. Service was excellent though. The main Catesby Bar was lovely, as was the young gentleman serving in there (with a little beard and ponytail).

Nice enough. Would be better if I played golf I guess. £5-30 for a pint of San Miguel. Good range of bar food. Standard sort of hotel breakfast, staff VERY keen to clean up plates. Chill folks. Room was good. Nice size TV, plenty of coffee (and not all decaff for a change). Shower you could figure out without an engineering degree also a nice change . Large comfy bed. Lacked plug near bed for phone charging. I don't really want to get up and cross the room to turn off my alarm.... Handy if you're ever in Daventry for some reason. I wasn't paying so shouldn't grumble really
