Still the only place to have lunch when visiting Dawlish! Well priced quality for, cooked fresh rather than pre-prepared and microwaved. Friendly staff, and both indoor and outdoor seating make this an all-round place to eat. Can be busy around lunchtime, so plan accordingly - although the wait is never that long

Great food, perfect sized portions, tomatoes in separate pot. Delicious hash browns and mushrooms. Will come back to Dawlish to eat here. Lovely atmosphere, very clean. Great staff, very friendly. Excellent all round thank you.

Myself a 5 friends visited John's yesterday morning for breakfast before we left our holiday in Dawlish.
By far the most amazing customer service from all the staff, very friendly, attentive and made sure we were comfortable.
The food 10/10 we all ordered breakfast and it came out freshly cooked, tasted amazing and filled us all up.
We are due a holiday to Dawlish again next year and we all said we'd definitely come back to John's for our leaving breakfast again.
Highly recommended for the service and food. Thank you to John and the team!

We returned a year later and the same as above only we witnessed a dog give birth to a pup. Was quite spectacular!!

Our family were looking for some breakfast before our trip to the beach. Open, welcoming and very friendly. We were welcomed into John's, by the man himself. The service was nothing but excellent. Food was very quick to arrive, and to say hit the spot would be an understatement. Only serving local produce, noted by the board on the wall.
The food was very delicious, and wasn't greasy at all. A perfect English breakfast experience .
Highly recommended.

After walking up and down trying to find somewhere to eat, we settled at John's, and I am so glad we did.
We sat outside watching the world go by, and it was very relaxing.
The food was beautiful and you get so much of it!!
My father in law ordered the chicken club sandwich and could only manage half of it. Luckily, my husband (the human dustbin) managed to finish it off for him.
We would definitely go back and would highly recommend it to anyone

My friends and I called into John's Cafe today and I was so impressed I have to leave a review. Very friendly and helpful staff where nothing was too much trouble. Excellent food. Will definitely go back again.
