Had a lovely lunch in the Lamp Room. Always a nice spot to visit to walk the dog and meet family and friends.
Lots of parking for a reasonable £5 a day gives you access to an outdoor child's play area, walking track, cycling road track and mountain bike trails. The blue mountain bike trails are suitable for all and lead from one trail to the next. They are cross country, not downhill, with no real jumps to speak of, however they are good fun. There are showers and toilets on site, a restaurant and a museum about coal mining.
A lovely park with plenty of activities across the year.
A great place for all ages, some lovely walks, play area for children, bike riding and lots more. Recommend a visit.

Absolutely love this place, never tire of visiting hear, all that I need in 1 place. Parking prices are fair as long as you are staying for longer than 1hr.
Kids love the walks and the play grounds..lovely cafe and really clean toilets can easily spend the whole day there
Play ground , cafe . Mining museum. Lots of cycle trails and some other activities on site too.
We have been several times when visiting the area.This time was for an Easter egg hunt.Lots of fun and good facilities.
Loads of things to do. Plenty of space. Lovely scenery.
