Pizza Express Devizes offers a good range of Italian cuisine and caters for every type of diet out there. I'll start the review talking about the Decor.
Decor
The interior design is quite akin to that of other Pizza Express restaurants, that's no bad thing as the establishment looks timely as well as contemporary. There's beautiful prints on the wall that lend them self to the ambiance and the lighting has been well a-pointed with downward facing spots on each table. The Restaurant is long and fairly narrow and there's plenty of seating throughout.
However one thing that did semi spoil the experience and I know this is nitpicking, is the water jug that was brought to the table looked like it was encrusted with limescale in places. I am sure it was perfectly clean, but I expected better. The cutlery also had water marks in places, I realise this is not a 5 star establishment, but these are common things that I feel should be sorted.
Service
Service is both friendly and you never feel pressured into ordering. At the time my friend and I were only one of a few people in there, so the orders came out very prompt. I could not comment on busier periods. It's also worth noting that Pizza Express offers a lot of vouchers that can make your meals very good value. I redeemed a 2 for 1 on mains that significantly reduced the bill.
Food
Onto the most important aspect! I bought Dough Balls and a La Reine Pizza. These were at best adequate, The doughballs were fine, but I could not taste much garlic in the butter and I felt the pizza skimped on the olives, (please see image below). I was expecting more olives scattered over the pizza and as for the base! Well, it didn't have that crunch which I was expecting. I have had better pizzas from Pizza Express in the past and I shall chalk this down to bad luck.
Overall
I know I complained a bit about the food and certain aspects of the cleanliness of the establishment, but the value for money is excellent. For this reason I would certainly recommend Pizza Express to families on a budget. But DO look out for their deals! As without them there are better Italian restaurants around.
Friendly staff polite. Pizza was good but the
Passion fruit and orange meringue pastry was really good 😁
They are about the friendliest and most helpful staff imaginable. The menu is extensive and always cooked superbly. Prices are reasonable for a higher end chain such as this.
The choice of drinks are good too; I like a beer with my pizza and there's some excellent choices on the drinks menu.
My son is lactose intolerant he's always able to enjoy a lacto -free pizza there. The atmosphere is relaxed and service prompt, even when they're particularly busy.
