Always a superb selection of very well kept real ales, delicious inexpensive food, two real fires, great staff, wonderful atmosphere and instant transport home...not many venues are as good as this!
I’d heard word about the Sunday Roast Dinner at the Ridings for a couple of weeks at this point but it’s only once I’d tried it for myself did I understand the hype. Sylvia and the staff have put together a no-frills, no menu ‘take what you’re given and enjoy’ feast of wonderfully cooked beef on a bed of mash with veg, stunning roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and a nicely crisp and fluffy Yorkshire Pudding.
The gravy is thick and beefy, the CAMRA-endorsed bar selection is expansive and deep, the decor is rich and colourful, and the atmosphere is a heady mix of warm welcome for newcomers with that confidence of a pub that knows exactly how good it is. The West Ridings really is a venue that you have to give a go at some point in your life before you head on down the road… highly recommended.
Lovely place always welcoming food great always something to have quiche ect pork scratchings to die for !!!! Drinks excellent value £17 for 2 x doubles +2 halves lager if you ever miss your train would def recommend 👌 👍
Proper pub run by proper people. Decent beers and food. gets really busy at times.
Quick update, Sunday lunch is still great value. Proper grub. Weekdays menu hasn't changed much and is still tasty and fair value.
Ever changing beer menu gives you plenty of drinking choice. Still a top place for a feed and a drink or three.......
Great place stop off at while waiting for your train as it is on Dewsbury railway station. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit.
Went for quiz. Such a good atmosphere. Made to feel really welcome. Chip butties given out at no request! Had a lot of fun thankyou!

We visited this great, friendly pub on Dewsbury Railway Station.

There were plenty of people in like us waiting to catch there trains

Impressive pub adjacent to the railway station, great selection of local beers and nice roast for £8.95 on a Sunday. Well impressive and can't imagine a better pub in town.

I was nice to be somewhere warm whilst waiting for my train.
Good pub which keeps a good pint. Great place to meet from or send off to Manchester Airport.
