The Shoulder of Mutton never ceases to impress, if you've never visited then you must!!!! Lisa and her staff are amazing. If you're a real ale lover like me the beer is spot on and as for the food, well we've just left after a simply outstanding meal (20/07/17)........... 10/10!!
Lisa is an absolute darling and I couldn't have asked for a better evening/experience.
I had the butternut squash and goats cheese risotto (something I've never tried before) and I was in love! Packed with so many lovely flavours that I would definitely want to eat again. Now here is where it gets good.... Dessert. My friend and I both went for the dark chocolate and orange torte and I think I may have gone to heaven. Both courses were washed down with my favourite glass of white zinfandel rose - honestly delightful.
The atmosphere was also so lovely - fairy lights dotted about everywhere and calming music made me feel all warm and fuzzy! I didn't want to leave haha!
Overall such a lovely evening with the best host (Lisa, you're a gem ). 5****
Great pub, brilliant range of Ales and great surroundings Superb Sunday dinner .
Had a fabulous meal here this afternoon. Gorgeous chunky chips (the pic is my dog waiting eagerly for her share), steak pie packed with meat.
Friendly place for a pint with nice outside area when the sun's shining
We called in yesterday after a long walk. Had a lovely meal, all home cooked and fresh. The staff were lovely and so accommodating with my dog. Lovely place x
Great pub, dog friendly with two open fires. Carol is lovely. Perfect venue for a Sunday
Called into today for a spot of lunch with a friend, all i can say is wow. The lady who served us was so polite, friendly and welcoming and even though they didnt serve what i drink usually on tap she soon solved it for me. The food was absolutely beautiful and the service was absolutely spot on. Cannot fault this pub at all. Warm and friendly atmosphere and cant wait to call in again.
A little gem of a pub in a beautiful part of Yorkshire. Great and generous home cooked food and great beers. Its a quirky decorated pub well lit and spotlessly clean, nick- nacks all around make it very interesting, I felt at home soon as I entered this pub. The staff were polite and friendly . we called here while walking in the area and will definitely call again ,highly recommend this establishment.
We booked for a family meal here after my father-in-law received a flyer through the door. We had a very warm welcome from the staff, who were very friendly and efficient. We had the Sunday lunch menu and when the food arrived everyone was impressed by the portion size and quality.the rump beef looked very impressive, and my fish and chips were excellent, all home cooked T o perfection. Got to admit I was impressed, we will definitely go again and I hope the standard remains high.
The new owners Vicky & Dave could not have made us more welcome. The food is definitely worth a try, new menu with plenty of choices. My husband and I will be a regular visitor here 😊. See you lovely people soon.
Warm and friendly this historic pub in the centre of the small village serves a range of delicious food (check out Web site). Traditional decor with a modern twist. Dog friendly floors! ! We often call in for a coffee after a good country walk on the many interlinking footpaths in this dog walking and horse riding area. Outside seating for those sunny days. Large carpark so no worries about parking on country lanes. A wonderful addition to the area.
