Wonderful freshly baked scones, and a nice pot of tea. It's the simple pleasures...
Well-liked little tea rooms in Dorchester where dogs are welcome. A cream tea is reasonable value at £7.95 a head. For this you get two small scones plus cream and jam and tea. We all had cream teas so we got sharing pots of cream and jam and, sadly, there wasn't quite enough to go round. To be fair, we didn't ask for additional pots, it's possible we could've had more if we had asked. The scones were beautifully light although I prefer fruit scones to plain. And the jam appeared to be plum judging by the taste and the pip I found. Strawberry or Raspberry would have been nice. Other than that it was a nice experience. Plus the toilets were clean with an interesting line in decor. And we were able to park in the street outside. I would recommend this place.
We needed a lunch spot after walking, with our dogs, along the Thames and visiting the Wittenham clumps.
We both had a very tasty lentil and tomato soup with fresh bread (gluten free bread for me) and the dogs enjoyed their bowl of water.
My hubby enjoyed his raspberry and vanilla slice but I was too full. There was a vegan cake on offer and gluten free millionaire shortbread.
Lily's is worth visiting if you are in the area.
Lovely little tea room. Proper cups and saucers. Lots to look at, sells various quirky items. Had a nice cuppa and slice of cake.
Really cute cafe with nice staff, cakes and other sweet treats, and the drinks are good too. I had the lemon meringue pie which was amazing and surprisingly not too heavy
It was raining and the Abbey Tea rooms don't open until afternoon. Walked until I found this delightful cafe with a friendly owner. Lovely toasted tea cake with a proper pot of tea. Lunch Menu looked nice and the quirky decor made me smile. Very reasonable price

Knocked 1 star off because a little expensive
We arrived here with our dog, dripping wet from walking the Thames Path in heavy rain. We were given a warm welcome and served a choice of teas and excellent cakes. I particularly enjoyed the Pecan Slice. Thank you.
