Been here several times & have never found fault. Service is always fantastic & the food is superb! Was last here yesterday for a Birthday meal and I have to say my starter was the best starter I have ever had: Pan fried scallops with pea puree, crispy pancetta & cauliflower. Was on the Specials menu, but I have to say this dish needs to be on the regular menu as it was just sublime! I could have eaten the dish ten times over
The staff are brilliant. Attentive and informed. The food is amazing. Very relaxed atmosphere. We were not rushed out of our seats and spent two and a half hours enjoying a three course meal and two bottles of wine. The prices were very reasonable. We had the seafood platter - the medium is £55 and the selection of shellfish is fabulous. We would recommend coming to this restaurant highly. Thank you for a great experience.
Really nice Italian place, with welcoming staff and great service. The food was all around great, the salmon pasta was very well seasoned. It was also served really quickly and came in decent size. The view is just by the marina and it's a short walk from the train station too
Great food quality and service! Went there during the bank holiday and oyster got sold out 🦪. We got the last two luckily. Very fresh and tasty. Love the fish and chip as well! Overall great value with excellent view! Highly recommended. Plenty parking available outside as well in the evening.
What a wonderful experience I had in Bella Vita!
Food was absolutely lovely, perfectly seasoned and presented. The atmosphere was amazing and the waitresses were fabulous. The view of the coast, white cliffs and castle were all amazing.
Would definitely be coming back here again!!
This place was great.
We had tried two pubs along the coast but both had stopped serving food (it was around 7pm Sunday) and we were getting hungry.
We were staying on the seafront and had noticed this place earlier in the day, so gave it a go.
There was a lovely, calm atmosphere and the service was great. The restaurant has a glass front looking over the sea and we enjoyed watching the ferries come in and out in the distance.
We had camembert to start. It maybe could have done with a little longer cooking as it wasn't as gooey as I'd have liked, and we could have done with more bread but it was tasty and I am being both picky and greedy now.
The real star of the show here was the fish. The beer batter was among the best I've had, it was light and crisp and absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection and kept all of its moisture and flavour. It was awesome.
Definitely, definitely worth a visit.
Thee other day my partner and I went to the Dover Patrol after previously having eaten there (under the previous name ) a few times and enjoyed it.
We were initially disappointed with the menu, however we decided to try the seafood platter and chanced our luck by asking if the oysters could be done rockafella style and compliments to the chef they delivered and were absolutely lovely, the platter was fresh and delicious.
Mike( I hope I remember correctly) and Chloe were brilliant. All in all a really good lunch, albeit not cheap.
I'd recommend 👍
Oysters, mussels, haddock, fish & chips, mackerel pate were all top notch and delicious! Happy to have stumbled upon this place before leaving dover. Only the cod tasted a bit bland, more sauce perhaps?
Drinks and desserts were the cherry on top, wish I had an extra stomach to finish every morsel.
Staff were amazing and attended to us promptly with a fantastic attitude compared to many other restaurants we went to on this trip. Please keep up the great work everyone!
We went to Dover for the day and since we were next to the coast, figured it appropriate to eat somewhere with fish. Dover Patrol came up as the first result and we saw some good reviews so wanted to try it for ourselves. The staff were attentive and so friendly, but the food was absolutely incredible. I had the garlic prawns and my partner had the chilli calamari, then for mains we both had the chefs special of Dover Sole, it was both our first times eating Dover sole but it was amazing. It isn’t cheap, the bill coming to £109 for the two of us, but we both thought the price was completely worth it and we would’ve happily spent more for the quality of the food.
I really enjoyed the dinner with my friends here. But one thing that I was not really impressed with is the quantity of starters and some main courses. Only if the menu had any pictorial references. Just loved the traditional beer battered Cod fish and chips.
We were in Dover for a quick stop and luckily found this amazing restaurant for. Family meal. The food was brilliant, very tasty and amazingly good for value. Staff were so friendly. We only ordered one child menu for the toddler, but they gave us two ice cream, my older DD was so happy. I would definitely come back in future.
Living in Dover we often walk along the front. Having been away noticed the change to the restaurant and booked. It was wonderful. Sardines so fresh and perfectly cooked. Dogfish special absolutely amazing. Best food I have for a long time. Service was spot on. A complimentary lemoncello at the end put the icing on the top of a great evening. Thank you.
