Porters Bar & Restaurant

We went for a family birthday meal as a party of 13. They asked for a £10 deposit per person and asked for our orders before hand. This allowed them to provide excellent service and they even accommodated those that wanted a last minute pudding on the night! Super friendly staff, really approachable and attentive. Every single person was delighted with their meals and we all said it was the tastiest meals we’ve had. Don’t feel like you need to go with your “safe” meal choice because they’re amazing at absolutely everything on their menu! We all had an amazing night and will defo be back. Thank you!!

Went for the first time with a friend for lunch. I got the steak and chips and for dessert I had the sticky toffee and ginger pudding, I don't like ginger normally but thought I'd give it a go and I'm happy it wasn't overpowering with ginger and was just a hint of it. My friend got the the macaroni and chips and vanilla cheesecake and she liked them as well. The staff were very professional and friendly and very attentive. The price was on the higher end however the food matched the price. Will definitely be back

We had the best steaks we have had for many years, and we have steak reasonably regularly in Australia and whenever we travel! The quality of the meat was good and they were cooked to perfection. I had mine blue, and my wife had hers medium rare, so the chef certainly knows what he is doing. The rest of the food was also great, good chips and onion rings. Service was prompt and friendly. We will be back for Steak Night!

Nice, cosy, upbeat bar/restaurant down at The Quay. The staff are really nice and friendly here too. 2nd time coming here for food. This time it was for the boyfs birthday. I had the sea bass, boiled baby potatoes, Mediterranean veg and a tomato and chorizo sauce. Oh ya dancer!! The sauce is tasty, tasty. It's too bad they don't do that sauce as a wee side portion cause I'd dip my chips in it aaaaaaall day! Could not fault my meal. Could've eaten it again, actually. The boyf had the chilli burger, which came with chips and coleslaw. The burger looked really meaty. I was getting meat sweats looking at it! Chips were thick cut and cooked to perfection. Lovely and fluffy inside. Got a couple side portions of beer battered onion rings and a side portion of mac cheese just to taste. The onion rings were really crispy and the mac cheese, cheesy.
