Mas Mexicana

First time there but like mexican food so had good idea what to expect. Wasn't disappointed. Four of us there and had two dishes each(one person didn't like one of her choices..spicy watermelon..but none of us did) otherwise the food was excellent. Staff were excellent...friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

At the risk of sounding exaggerated, this was hands down one of the best meals we’ve had of all time. Fish taco, crispy, delicious, and fresh, combined with delicious potatoes, it can’t be beaten. I tried a Michelada for the first time & I have to say it was extremely tasty though not for the faint of heart spice wise nor for those who don’t have adventurous taste!

Owned by the same people as loco Rita’s (the fully vegan Mexican in town). Funnily enough though Mas has a separate vegan menu which is very good, some similarities and some differences between the two restaurants. I would rate Mas higher for delicate flavours and a really great pineapple pudding - a little more elegant that the street food vibe in loco Rita but not by much. I would always go loco Rita’s first to support the vegan business! Mas has been handy for big parties of people who can’t agree on a fully vegan setting.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in Scotland, with a fantastic atmosphere. The food is all tapas style, which is great for me as I don't like big meals. They have a good varied selection of dishes and a vegan menu. Particularly good were the corn side dishes, crispy mushrooms tacos and the tostadas. One of the taco fillings had pickled watermelon on top which was so good! We splurged and had a flyte of Mezcal too, which we shared between two. We will be back when we come back to Dundee!

During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Baja fish taco and beef birria, accompanied by crispy spiced potatoes and spicy chicken wings. Starting with the Baja fish taco, I found the fish to be fresh and nicely marinated. While I personally prefer a slightly crispier texture, the flavors were still enjoyable, and the fish maintained its natural taste. The taco was well-balanced, and the accompanying toppings added a pleasant touch to the overall flavor profile. Moving on to the beef birria, I was immediately impressed by the rich and savory taste of the minced beef. It was incredibly flavorful, and the delicious birria sauce provided a deep and satisfying complement. The combination of tender beef and robust seasonings made this taco a standout choice. The crispy spiced potatoes were perfectly fried, boasting a satisfying crunch while retaining a soft interior. They were seasoned with a delightful blend of spices, adding an extra dimension of flavor. As for the spicy chicken wings, they were well-marinated, offering a delightful kick of spiciness without overpowering the taste buds. Throughout my visit to Mas, the attentive service and inviting atmosphere added to the enjoyment of the meal. The restaurant's commitment to providing flavorsome Mexican cuisine is evident in the well-prepared dishes and the thoughtful combinations of ingredients.
