Mordentes Fish And Chips

ARBROATH ROAD CHIPPY. This isn't the first time the boyf and I have been to Mordente's for fish and chips, and it certainly won't be the last. I ordered the single jumbo haddock with mushy peas and the boyf got a single steak pie, portion of fritters and a portion of onion rings. The onion rings were amazing and got scoffed straight away!! The boyf says they are probably the best he's tasted. And he's tasted a lot of onion rings!!! My fish was beautiful, and it came on its own wee paper plate. Perfect for munching in the car. The batter was nice and crispy with hardly any grease and the fish was lovely and flakey. Mushy peas are mushy peas. Canna go wrong. The boyfs steak pie was really good. The steak chunks were meaty with no gristle or unwanted fatty bits. The gravy looked really rich and thick too. The batter for the fritters was nice, light and crisp. Again, hardly any grease. Only complaint I had is maybe the steak.pie could've done with its own wee plate too..but apart from that, the service and food was amazing!! 10's all round!!!! Sorry there are no pictures of the fritters and onion rings.

Parents and I had Jumbo Haddock suppers tonight. Parents shared theirs. Fish melted in the mouth and was completely boneless, as advertised. I've had fish from many chip shops in my years, but Mordente's is the best I - and my parents - have had in a while. Well worth the money, and handily placed to catch a lot of passing trade.

My Father was working over in Dundee back in 2004. And to ight was remembering a place he went to almost every day he was there as he said it was the best fish and chips he has ever had! We had to look all over Google maps at the different places..and once he saw your store front he jump and was very happy! Not sure if it is the same owners as back in 2004 but he thanks you for the great food and wonderful memories and the treatment he had when he came in. Thx.
