Decent sized garden centre just outside monifieth.
Plenty of selection and a huge outdoor area with garden furnishings/plants etc.
It’s also dog friendly.
I stopped in at the cafe which is decent sized and decided to go for sausages and mash (with mash swapped for chips). The food was nice enough and presented well, but I can’t help think it was expensive for what it was given it’s not cooked to order (c. £12).
We like this cafe. The tables are kept clear and clean. Great cup of coffee and the staff are friendly and obliging. Been 3 times in the last week. Unfortunately it’s the owners of badly behaved dogs who spoiled a peaceful chat on each occasion. Too many dogs barking and whining sadly now making it less attractive for us. Not a suitable space for dogs who don’t seem to be happy about being there.
Very impressed with the wee cafe upstairs! Self service with lots of dessert and tea time options! Would love to try the high tea someday. The scone was amazing!
Very friendly and helpful staff. My daughter and I went up to Dobbies for the morning as we didn’t have any plans and we ended up having a lovely morning!
At the aquarium the young lad let my daughter and I feed the fish.
In the restaurant, I didn’t feel my daughter needed the full kids menu so I asked the kitchen staff if they could just make a cheese sandwich. They were very happy to do so, even though it was before 11:30am when the lunch menu starts (which I hadn’t realised!)
In the Garden Centre, I was looking for some plastic sheeting for raised bed planters we had made at home but couldn’t find what I was looking for. I asked a staff member (I think his name was Kevin) who double checked the rolls for me. There wasn’t any but he kindly let me take the end of a previous roll for free that had been discontinued. He wiped it down for me and gave me some advice on what to fill the planters with.
Thanks for a lovely morning.
Went in today for a wander around the shop and came out with an affordable mini greenhouse as an entry into growing veg. The shop had a lot to look at, some lovely plants/flowers outside and a Waitrose section. I feel like they maybe could have a bit more variety in their water features as there wasn't much choice, and some things do get a bit pricey but certainly worth a look.
More than just the name. It’s not just a place that sells plants and stuff for the garden but it’s a lovely place to buy something nice and special, good butcher, lovely cafe and more. Will definitely be back for the food and some shopping. Christmas decorations for the home and gifts are all set up in store now in October.
Always a lovely visit to Dobbies for a stroll and a stock up for the garden and home. This store has a Sainsbury's inside, a kitchenware department, bedding and home items, garden furniture, bbqs and fire pits, a tropical aquatic animal section, indoor and outdoor plants, lots of helpful staff around to advise and checkout, a cafe up the stairs and it's even dog friendly! Always clean and well stocked, they have corona guidelines in place and a member of staff at the front when it's busy and informing when the restaurant is busy. It's a great wee afternoon out with everything for the garden, home and more.
Managed to pick up a few pieces for the old dears upcoming birthday. Nearly had a fit when the cashier rang it all through, but I suppose that's the price of lockdown. Didn't realise they sold so many groceries here too.
Dobbies is always a nice place to go to for many different things. Especially garden fixtures, fittings and furniture.
As always the dining area is busy but food and service excellent if a bit pricey.
