I went in for a look and walked out with a new set of garden furniture. That was unexpected.
The staff were lovely and gave me a deal that left me thinking like I was a winner. And the garden furniture looks like it was made for the space we had...
Huge single storey building with many departments and concession shops inside. Great Xmas displays at this time of year. Good cafe/restaurant, but a bit pricey for what food you get. Good way to pass a few hours especially if it's cold and wet outside as you are mostly under cover.
This Garden Centre is truly a wonderful Garden Centre though they are really welcoming and helpful the quality of house plants is great though I’m not so sure I’m completely happy with my plant i got from there. All the other plants I got were great lots of uncommon and common house plants. The staff are kind and considerate. The cafe is lovely the food tastes so good! They even have a yummy gluten free brownie and the menu shows the allergens clearly. I would totally recommend!
We usually visit Poplars to meet with various friends for a meal or just a lovely cream tea, they have a doghouse which allows us to take Molly out with us, she really loves going to Poplars and meeting the friendly staff, customers and of course our friends

Love this garden centre. Lots to see in there. No pets but lots of plants and gifts. Christmas hasn't had a Father Christmas since lockdown but a lovely range of decorations and lights, cards and other Christmas related gifts to buy.
Restaurant is wonderful, i often just pop in for a drink and snack but also sells breakfasts, hot meals and on request savoury and sweet cream teas. There is a small children's area which has inside and outside activities to do. Keeps children well amused whilst i eat. Well worth a visit. Check out the website too to get more information.
Lovely day out. I feel a real connection to this place as it's where I met my adopted son, Archie, it is very comforting to know this is the place he parted from his family. We had one last meal with his extensive extended family where we all shared a bowl of the best soup we've ever had. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of the soup because I couldn't contain myself long enough to take one. Was disappointed by the lack of plants, many fake very out of character for a supposedly authentic garden centre.
Very nice place to have a browse maybe buy a few things and have a coffee and a piece of cake.
Plenty of staff, but some think you have all day and quite insistent that you must talk to them? (Selling something? Near the entrance) made us feel rude having to say no thank you several times.
And it so happened we knew what we wanted and was in a rush.
I like this garden centre, lots of nice things to look at and buy. A huge furniture display.
They are a bit miserable in the restaurant, it’s pricey and not the greatest quality £26 for two meals - baked potato , beans and cheese and a vegetable croquette with chewy roast pots and veg plus two drinks. Coffee was nice. The cakes looked reasonably priced and nice.
Small area outside for young kids to play, huge sandpit and some games.
I picked up a couple of items and took them to the till, could only pay for one of the items and the other was sold by ‘ the works’ which had its own cash desk ( I didn’t notice it)
They had a huge display of summer houses, we didn’t go outside to look at the plants.
Very nice garden centre. Very clean and bright. The cafe was particularly good with lovely, cake scones and coffee all at a reasonable price. Will definitely return soon.
