Lovely food. It was the biggest plate of nachos ever. Very good staff. Very friendly. If u love continental ale this is the place for you. Some amazing choices. Dont like beer, then there are cocktails and other drink selections for you. I had an amazing marmalade cosmo for a change. A hidden gem.

We love the place, staff have always been very friendly & knowledgeable about the beers, I get my favourite cider & hubby always tries something a little bit different, usually Belgian beer. We always call in on our pub crawl

We held our engagement party here and I couldn’t have been happier with how it went. Matt the manager helped us with planning the food and drinks and couldn’t have done more to be accommodating and make us feel welcome. We were given upstairs and allowed to decorate however we wanted, and the food and drinks were top notch. Really casual and nice vibe. Would definitely recommend this place for food and drinks or for private events. Thank you!!!

Found down a little alleyway on North Rd, easy to miss but really cosy and nice, great beer selection, I'm currently sipping on an 8% red beer... staff are friendly and chatty. Worth coming to find. Cheers!

I recently visited the Durham branch and the staff were exceptionally helpful. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. The atmosphere was great and homely. The cocktails tasted amazing and I believe the member of staff that made them was named Chris. The range of beers was great and tried a couple of new ones and was delighted to hear they change frequently as I enjoy trying new ones. I highly recommend this bar to anyone looking for a lovely evening out in Durham

Went on Saturday, been loads before. Nice bar but bloody expensive. Nearly £11 for a pint, and half a cider.... other than that, great..

It was helped by being a sunny afternoon and the temperature on the roof top was gorgeous. This pub has never really been a favourite of mine (for no real reason) I was with a group of old schoolmates who had come back to Durham. Some wanted to call in. The place was as remembered, it was clean and tidy despite being busy, as most pubs are in Durham on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were excellent; very friendly, open to conversation when they could, and dealt with a couple of issues perfectly and with great humour. I had a couple(ish) of real ales, they were excellent and when one was a bit out of sorts the staff sorted it without quibble. I will definitely be going back.

Being from South Yorkshire the Head of Steam in Sheffield is always on our Saturday afternoon route, this one in my opinion is better. The range of beer is extensive so plenty to choose from, we had a couple of pints of stout each which were lovely. The inside decor and seating I thought was very good, everything seemed laid back and relaxed. The guy we were chatting to I think maybe was the manager was very friendly and a credit to the company. We could have easily stopped all night but wanted to try other pubs. Highly recommended.
