My partner finished her long walk in Ebchester and stopped by for a refreshment before I picked her up in the car. She says the pub itself was canny with a lovely barmaid. Shame about the demeaning bar files though. Still can't have everything.

We had our first date at The Chelmsford on 17th August 1974. We had a lovely evening.
We are still together 43 years later.
I think the beer worked its magic!
