I usually get the xl pepperoni pizza and chicken strips which is a deal! I got the cheesesteak and wings. I'm slowly making my way down the menu but it's hard when you find one thing that's amazing in itself! You never disappoint thank you😋

This is the best pizza in Durham.
(Yes, I am including Pizzeria Toro in that assessment, which I also love, but it's a different experience, and I believe the pizza itself is better at Sofia's.)
Sofia's has everything I like in a pizza and nothing I don't. A thin crust that stays crisp, good sauce level, just enough cheese, and the toppings are fresh and delicious. The East Durham in particular is awesome (be ready for the heat as others have said).
We waited way too long to try this place. We will be back, and often. It's a hidden gem in a town that takes its food seriously.

We love Sofia’s!! If you like heat- definitely try the East Durham or Mexican (although just looking now at the menu and I don’t see the Mexican as an option- it was our favorite!!). You truly you can’t go wrong with any of their pizzas- even the plain cheese pizza is amazing. We also love their house salad with the homemade Italian dressing- delicious!

I've wanted to eat here for years but my schedule never allowed until this past week. Nice clean restaurant. The hostess was super cute! She had a great taste in music too because, per staff, it was her Playlist coming through the speakers and I had every song already on mine😂. She made the entire experience so 3 stars for her. The pizza was average..not bad..not good..but average. Nothing stood out about it at all(thus the additional 1 star)I'd still return for the vibes and maybe try a sandwich..and of course to check her out again.

Normally I do not like thin crust pizza as it is that mushy New York style with toppings so finely ground that they are unidentifiable. Sophia's has a thin crispy perfect crust. Somehow, they are able to make that thin crust support diced toppings. Their daily lunch special is my regular go to meal.

Finally went to try them out. Went on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were very friendly. We ordered 2 pizzas to go but wanted to eat a slice hot and fresh so they gave us plates too.
Their pizza is really good! The ratio of cheese to sauce to toppings is really on point. Their crust is the perfect thickness too. Thinner but not hard or crunchy. I'll definitely be going back.
Edited. Just tried their chicken tenders this sunday. Soooooo good!

The best pizza in Durham! Sophia's is a nice neighborhood restaurant with super friendly staff. I upgraded the lunch special to try a slice of the East Durham (bacon, collards, serrano peppers) and La Guera (pesto, riccota, arugula, cherry peppers and pine nuts). Both were delicious and great value.
