Nice pub with friendly staff. Regularly has the football on, had plenty of seats and a good range of drinks. Looking forward to my next visit.

Proper old fashioned Durham pub literally on Front Street.. Good selection of real ales and shorts, a slightly tired looking games room. Friendly helpful staff and landlady. Nicely busy on a Friday night and quite definitely dog friendly. Friendly atmosphere with easy parking facilities. Not posh but you really don't want that here.

Great beer. Authentic musak free atmosphere. Very friendly. Now a sports bar with giant tvs in every room. Lost it's charm as genuine real ale old time pub where you could sit and chat over a pint of real ale. Just another sports bar you could find anywhere.

Beer is great. Real ales excellent and good weekly variety. Always well kept. The place lived off reputation of its beers and old fashioned pub but could still do with a makeover as looking a bit shabby now.

Small bar with plenty of locals and singing from the local society club in the adjoining saloon bar. Excellent range of craft beers on tap which change regularly. Great prices for craft beer compared with prices in Durham city center

Comfortable, big improvement on previous pub , t.v.s, too big ( we all don't like football)and the noise from the pool room into the lounge a bit off putting
