A country pub that does fab and very reasonably priced lunches and dinners. I had one of their specials of the day... Wild mixed grill with boar sausage, venison steak and duck. Not great for my waist line, but oh so tasty. I regret nothing!

Fab food. We were catching a flight and so couldn't stay for anything more than a

The "specials" menu always has unusual & interesting food combinations/dishes. The pub is always busy, which is a good sign.

Jamie went above and beyond to provide superb service. Genuinely one of the best dining experiences in terms of his service and the waitress (apologies didn’t get her name). I asked for a Yorkshire pud with my pie meal and as I was asking, realised it’s not Sunday so there weren’t any. Jamie got the kitchen to make me one specially! Also Jamie actually sat down with us at the end and ran through the Tesco vouchers that my 80 year old parents had. He was really gentle with them. Thank you Jamie for a great lunch with my family.

Always has a good ale on tap, so far, the food has been great and the service has been excellent.
They also give discounts for CAMRA members on drinks and Blue Light card holders on food.

Travelled down from yorkshire to see my special friend who is 96 and lives in local nursing home , I had promised her fish and chips but it was a Sunday and the fish and chip shop was shut. Having explained my situation they provided me with a takeaway making me and my friend very happy. Thank you yo chef Georgei and all the staff for your kindness. Also had a lovely meal on the Saturday evening and great beer garden.

We read the reviews from + 8 years with complaints which are clearly not representative of the food and service today. A fantastic place, highly recommended and the best sticky toffee pud I have had in years. Returned several times during our stay in the area and the quality standard was consistent throughout.
