Got a chance to visit Shezan during our visit to Scotland. Loved the food we’ve ordered. We ordered Chicken tikka Achari, chicken chilli garlic and plain naans, must say food was scrumptious and very much affordable. Service was quick. I’ll surely recommend this place.
I'm smiling as I write this because I looked and my last review was for Tandoori Mixed Grill and guess what, that's what I had the last time too. I do get other dishes from here! There was a twist on the Tandoori Mixed Grill, I asked for a hotter sauce than usual with mine and they happily made me an excellent vindaloo sauce.
This is the fifth time I've left a review and I keep doing it because they really are a great place for an Indian meal. Last time our waiter was Deva who looked after us really well.

Another Punjabi food joint in UK. Was just next to our hotel in Edinburgh. Tried some fantastic lamd rice and lamd curry. Even the chicken curry and prawns rice was good. Bit expensive and service was prompt but not warm.
I am from INDIA and we were in Scotland for 4 days in March 2017. It was my last night in Edinburgh. Before reaching here we tried couple of Indian restaurants but we disappointed with taste.
Food in Shenaz is perfect and authentic Indian style.
For Startes we tried chicken tikka dry. It was nicely prepared.-- 4.5/5
We tried chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. Perfectly prepared with Indian spice and juicy masala gravy. This was the first time we feel like we are eating in INDIA during our 15 days of UK tour. -- 5/5
In short this is the best Indian restaurant among all nearby Indian restaurant. Do not hesitate to choose this one if you trust my judgement. But be prepare for spicy food.

Make sure to book a table on phone before you go. Especially on weekends. We didn't got the table during our first try on Friday evening. But we booked a table on Saturday evening before 2 hours of expected arrival time and got the reservation without any trouble.
Shezan is a nice place to have good Indian meal.
Decided to go here to fulfill my cravings for Indian food. It is located on leith street, easily accessible.
The ambiance of the place is decent except the part where they have actresses pictures on the wall! I made a reservation as it was the day of Diwali but the restaurant wasn't crowded at all.
The service is good, they served us with the food within 15 mins of the order. The staff are really kind and caring.
We ordered tikka masala, paapadum, korma, saag paneer and biryani! For bread we ordered masala naan and garlic naan. The food was incredibly delicious. Korma was the best and ofcourse the biryani! Paapadum was crisp and the sauce they served was really good, green chutney, pickle and many more.

I'm so surprised with the negative reviews and low ratings on zomato. Shezan is a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous decor (minus the enormous pictures of Bollywood actresses on the wall), fantastic service and good food.
We entered Shezan without a reservation when it was packed; the waiter was polite and made sure we got a table within the next 10 minutes. We then ordered mango lassi, papad, Batli ghosht (lamb), butter chicken and nan breads.
Everything was delicious and satisfying, except the butter chicken which was slightly tasteless for what butter chicken normally stands by.
1st experience and wish to come again but tomorrow we r flying back. Had a wonderful dinner in Shezan a last meal in Edinburgh. The food taste delicious. Especially Tawa Chk with Masala Naan. Also we ordered Chk Karadai but didnt like that much. A good friendly atmosphere as well.
Me, my sister and better half went along to Shezan, Edinburgh. I've been to this indian restaurant a few times now and always love the food. I wasn't as hungry as the other two so I got a started portion of the mixed grill and Shezan special rice. I love a juicy mixed grill and that's exactly what is was. The Shezan rice was really filling as it had all sorts of vegetables but my favourite thing! So maybe that's the reason I didn't touch my nan bread which I always love.
We filled our tummy with the papadums though I love spiced onions! Hassys and Tees got curry dishes, which judging by how much food was left they didn't enjoy. When I tried it, it was tasty but then again they are both near enough curry experts. We knew the manager so he gave us an amazing 35% discount! Great location as its central and without discount still reasonable priced
I went into Shezan on a Saturday night for dinner with a friend and it was a great experience. Even though it was a Saturday and very busy the staff were very friendly and attentive whilst serving our dishes very quickly.
To start we got 3 dishes to share; chicken pakora, lamb kebab and poppadums along with a range of sauces. The chicken pakora was very tasty and the poppadum with the mango chutney was also nice. For the main course I had the Chicken Rogan Josh which comes in a tomato sauce, it was very nice and had a good chicken to sauce ratio. I also had it with pilau rice and peshwari nan bread. My friend went for the Royal Biryani which was a mix of chicken, lamb, prawns and nuts which comes in a garlic and ginger sauce. I’m not a fan of nuts so didn’t try it but my friend really seemed to enjoy it. Overall it was a great experience and for a pretty reasonable price.
Lovely place. Beautiful ambience. And great Indian food
Stopped by for dinner last night and was very good. The only downside is on the mixed grill platter the serving size is a little small with only one lambchop and one kabob. The food was delicious and though I couldn't have the Naan bread, it looked very good. My wife had the chicken rogan josh, and was very good as well. If gluten free, highly recommend the place for good food. Our waitress Mahima was very nice and super friendly towards our 3 year old.
Hands down one of the best lunch menu I have ever seen. Affordable and super tasty. Guys check out this restaurant. The flavours would blow your mind. Loved the lunch menu! Will definitely visit again and 100% reccomend to everyone!
The pakoras, chicken tikka and chicken biriyani blew my mind. Felt just like how they make in India. Best biriyani in Edinburgh according to me!
We've been eating there with a group of 9 people. We had some starters and 9 different main courses so we could try several dishes. Everything we had was delicious and unique in taste. Among our favorites was the Tandoori Chicken Tikka.
It can get a little bit loud in the restaurant but the waiters immediately reacted to our request of turning the music volume down a bit. All in all a great evening. Would recommend 👍

Very quiet on a Thursday evening but lovely food with just the right amount of spice.
I'm an American traveling with a tour group. Selected this fine restaurant because it was close to my hotel. A very fortunate choice! Our server Sid was amazing, made great suggestions and was on top of our needs 100%. The food was... gorgeous! Amazing layers of flavors perfectly prepared. Yep. Eat here!
Absolutely loved the food and hospitality. Started with papadums and chutney platter , must confess I am not a huge fan of papadums served in Asian restaurants in UK as they are not of my North Indian liking but the ones served here reminded me of home and specially the coriander mint chutney. After this we ordered vegetarian and non vegetarian platters for starters . Veg one had onion bhaji and mushrooms. Non veg one had chicken tikka, kabab and lamb chops. Loved each bit of it. For main course we ordered chicken fry , lamb karahi and paneer butter masala with Shazam special garlic naans. Everything was super delicious and spot on to my taste expectations . It is now my officially my go to restaurant whenever I visit Edinburgh.

Absolutely amazing! Service was outstanding and the food did not disappoint! Highly recommend the chicken biryani as it is a national favourite of many. 100% will come back again and again!
