Went in for a drink and stayed for 2. The bar staff really friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Let me try a couple of drinks as wasn’t sure what to have. Great atmosphere will definitely go back.

Located in the buzzing grass market it's crowded and busy. The first time we went it was busy so we thought we will gang out at the bar. we were told that we cannot just order drinks without food. When we said we will order food we r told no table no food. Strange...Anyways we were there early again the next day so could get a table. We had a Mac n cheese which was excellent and a steak which was average and a bit salty. The draught beers were good. The burgers looked great.

Very crowded tourist pub located near the former execution spot in Grassmarket. Went there with my friend who coming over to Edinburgh. Crowded as usual, ordered haggis and it was fantastic. However due to the crowd, the service is a bit slow because they got bunch of customers to handle!

Tasty gear! Have been to the branches and Manchester and Leeds, so decided to give the Edinburgh branch a go. Great location and the added bonus of having muchos cheapo cocktails just now to celebrate their 25th bday. I had the Xinxim curry - chicken and crayfish curry with rice and dried coconut. Very nice. Fajitas looked good but no cheese...booooo!

Awesome veg burger and cheese macaroni . never thought veg food in a pub could be so nice. It is a pub so do not expect cocktails, just simple plain drinks. Light music in background but a small place. Price was 21 pounds for two which was ok.

Nice pub, traditional looking wooden interiors, with both tables and booths. Decent range of ales and beers on tap, and delicious food. The burger and steak were especially tasty! The only issue was service was terribly slow! There was only one waitress/bar person taking care of the entire pub! Not sure if this is the usual, I can't imagine it is, just bad luck I guess.

Amazing pub with a wonderful history, the legend has it that before the person was hanged to the death at the Centre of the famous grass market they were taking here for the last drink, hence the name.

Situated in the historic Grassmarket area of Edinburgh old town, the Last Drop is a Nicholson's pub unlike most. The Last Drop, a macabre reference to the last hanging in Grassmarket, is a traditional little drinking hole with all the unique charms and rustic quirks one would expect from a trip to Edinburgh.
The building, still cast in the original 17th century stonework of the old town, blends timelessly with the architecture of the surrounding area and creates what almost feels like a small, sub-community within the city.
The décor inside the pub is predominantly stone and wood with dimmed lanterns and small alcoves for groups and couples to retreat into. The bar area itself is an inviting space to try a few local ales and a smaller restaurant section to the side provides a more intimate setting for diners. Dotted around the walls are small plaques with notes on the area's history, allowing you to brush up on a little local knowledge whilst you enjoy a drink or two.
The food verges on traditional Scottish fare alongside old pub classics, such as pies, chili and lasagne. It's simple food that caters for a largely tourist driven crowd and does the job of filling stomachs before a long day of sightseeing is resumed.
If it's a traditional dish you're after then the mince and tatties is a must. The delicately spiced mince fuses perfectly with creamy mashed potato and seasonal veg, creating a hearty dish packed with flavour and old town charm.
The beer on tap ranges from standard lagers to a few choice ales, although there is nothing spectacular in this area. The Deuchars IPA from the Caledonian Brewery is the pick of the bunch and will compliment any dish on the menu. There's also an array of board games to have some fun with plus big screen televisions for all the live sporting action.
All in all a strong offering from Nicholson's that will keep driving in tourists for as long as it wants, or until the last drop is drunk, at least.

Traditional food, good and quite fast service. The cullen skink was surprisingly good, the haggis was also really nice as well as the fishcakes and the ribeye steak. The cranachan dessert was weird and not sure if it was done properly because it was the first time I had it, it was just a full glass of cream topped with very sour sauce. The service was decent but a man wanted to turn us down at the entrance saying they don’t have any table. Lucky we insisted because they actually did. No booking required also but it seems like all the other Nickolsons pubs want a booking and we were sent away by 2 of them before we found the last drop.

This place was awesome! The good was delicious. Loved the nappies and haggis. Also, the pie was so good. I loved it here. The historical significance of the location also makes it special. Worth a visit!

We loved the starters; highly recommended. Everything was very good. We had Scottish beers too, and they were also very good. We also ordered hamburgers, but they were just okay, nothing special for us. The place had a nice history and nice decoration. :)

Food was decent for a tourist spot- definitely recommend the whiskey sauce if you get anything with haggis. The chicken dish was pretty good and had some classic Scottish haggis and was prepared well. Atmosphere was amazing though - not sure if it's regular or a one time thing but there were a bunch of guys playing music (guitar, violin, flute) that just gave it a great pub feel. Tables were serve yourself and it wasn't a problem. Had the brisket fries with cheese as pub starters and they were actually really good too!

Everything was absolutely delicious except the dessert, we didn't eat more than a couple spoonfuls. But since everything else was great, we assumed it's more a personal thing more than a badly made dessert (even tho it was truly bad, somehow it was too acid and flavourless at the same time)

The food was marvelous! I ate every drop and so did all of my party. Our server took our orders without needing to write anything down and brought it to our table seemingly immediately. We met multiple other servers who made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was very cozy and warm, we were blessed with a little band of gentlemen performing live while we were there.

Classic Scottish pub, amazing environment around the whole pub, typical band Scottish music 10/10, the restrooms where not clean at all but its a pub at the end lol. Great time with my friends. If your are near by take a seat and drink a beer.

Popped in here for a solo dinner on a Friday night before other plans. The place was busy and lively, and I wasn't sure I'd get a seat, but after 10 minutes of waiting at the bar with a drink, I was ushered to a table. Service was great, everyone friendly and quick. I enjoyed the smoked salmon and oatcakes, Balmoral chicken, and cranachan. The Balmoral chicken was delicious and I absolutely recommend it. The atmosphere in the pub is cheerful and lively, with nods to its slightly macabre name on the walls. I popped in for a late drink with friends later and enjoyed the same atmosphere. Menu is varied with lots of choice. Drink menu also has plenty of choice, including a long list of categorised whiskies to peruse. I heartily recommend a visit here.

The place was really packed with history which was amazing and not to forget it's Nicholson's bar so the cask ales were really good. It was obvious I went for Stewart Jack back and the maltiness was awesome. I had Mac and cheese and halloumi cheese fires, tho the quantity was super less to what I paid for. Other thing the garlic bread was sogged I can recommend the drink they have ranges from A to Z but the food was okiesh.
