Used an ItIsOn voucher for 3 course lunch with cocktails - brilliant - had a lovely window table, great service and never once did we feel it was not a full service experience which can sometimes happen with voucher deals. Choice was excellent for us, meals superbly cooked, not rushed at all and 3 courses, cocktails and coffees made for a fantastic lunch experience - highly recommended.

Every year Harvey Nichols Forth Floor restaurant and brasserie host a special ‘winter feasts’ menu in January. They offer three courses and a cocktail for £20 in the brasserie, and the same for £30 in the restaurant. Last year I visited the restaurant, and while I liked the food I wasn’t convinced it was worth the extra £10 to sit in more or less the same dining area. So this year I went back to try the brasserie.

Harvey Nichols isn’t somewhere I’d normally be spotted due to my lack of piles of gold, but when I saw their restaurant, which I’ve heard great things about, had an offer during January, I had to take advantage. We arrived early so decided to sample the cocktail menu at the bar. At £8.50, it was possibly one of the most expensive drinks I’ve bought in Edinburgh, but being Harvey Nics you have to expect to pay for the luxury. Unfortunately, I chose a drink that I did not like at all, so it did turn out to be a bit of a painful purchase!!

Wow fantastic food with a fantastic view of the city. Reccomend a window seat ! Take your wallet though it's expensive but I think worth it

Although the Forth restaurant is in fact located on the fourth floor of Harvey Nichols, the spectacular views from the bar area look out over the Forth Estuary and Kingdom of Fife, framing one of the most iconic views in Scotland – see what they did there? Rather clever (I thought). The view was stunning and a trip to HN would be worth it for that alone. Sadly, I couldn’t get a picture of this view as there were occupied bar stools along the length of the window.

This was probably one of the longest dinners I've ever had: starting at 7:30pm and ending at 11:30pm...for me it was perfect.

This review appears in the April 2012 edition of Bite Magazine . In what seems like the blink of an eye, Harvey Nichols are gearing up to celebrate their first decade in Edinburgh. The Forth Floor brasserie and restaurant, with spectacular skyline views and contemporary design, have stayed atop many a 'destination' dining guide since 2002. The city's restaurant scene has changed markedly, yet Executive Chef Stuart Muir remains at the helm, consistently and confidently presenting the best of Scottish and British produce. Gourmet Mamma and I went along to see the newly refurbished restaurant, and as we were in celebratory mood, the Tasting Menu seemed only right. A six course feast, it was a showcase of the finest ingredients, oh-so elegantly presented. Dish one was North Sea mackerel with jamón Iberico , almond cream, anchovies and preserved lemon. The dish captured those classic Spanish tapas flavours, the ultimate umami appetiser with the pan-seared plump oily mackerel, salty anchovy

I've just had a lovely wee afternoon tea here with my mum before I head off on an traveling adventure. It was a busy day but we were seated quickly, served politely with water, a pot of tea and some delicious scones!!

How do i put this in words?...
Great food, lovely view off the balcony, friendly and fast service..
I have ate at Forth Floor brasserie many times and have always loved it. My all time favorite remains the Cream of Mushroom Soup, Gnocchi, Mussels, Fish cake, Salmon, Carrot cake and the Awesome Sticky toffee pudding..
I have worked here for 5 months and have seen how hard the chefs work to come up with new variety in the menu. I don't drink but I have heard that they make some amazing Cocktails and Mocktails.
Also, I would highly recommend to have breakfast at this place, u will love every bit of it. The Homemade Fruit Scones  and muffins are mind blowing.  I loved loved loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding here.

Love the view and food. Staff are friendly. It’s just it’s take time to serve the food. We ordered their summer menu, £30 for 3 courses plus a glass of Pelorus wine. Recommend to dine at their terrace. We had a lovely evening/dinner by looking at the sunset.

We have dined here twice in recent weeks, and on both occasions I found the service professional, attentive and generally to a high standard. The bar area has a great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff, my Vespar was fantastic. The views from the restaurant are outstanding and the seating comfortable. The soup was delicious and both the lamb dish and cod were cooked to perfection. It was also refreshing to have white wine served at the correct temperature.

Always go there for afternoon tea, great options, good price, unlimited tea or coffee. They were very helpful in meeting our dietary requirements, and were quick to make adjustments

Great food and and amazing terrace. The summer menu was delicious. The prices are high as expected, for example I wouldn't pay £15 for an aubergine salad but the 3 course summer menu for £28 including cocktails is well priced considering the location and quality. The staff was well paced and things arrived on time. I'm giving 4 stars because the seats outside were uncomfortable. They are wooden small seats with very little back support. Overall, it is a nice location with good food. I would recommend the terrace on a rare sunny day!

Great place to eat and drink. The cocktails here are expertly made and taste amazing. Great outdoor area to sit and watch the world go by on the street below. The bar staff were polite, prompt and well presented. The prices were on par with similar establishments in the area. To get to the bar, walk through the front door and onto the escalators then up to the top floor. Toilets are available for patrons of the bar, dining area and store. To guarantee a seat it's better to book ahead.

Visited here a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. 3 course set menu with a cocktail £28. Fantastic value and the food was superb. Cocktails were some of the best we've had in a long time. The picture of the pork belly main dish doesn't do it justice, it was wonderful. Great views across Edinburgh too if the weather is nice. Give it a try, for those prices, you've nothing to lose.

Called in for a browse around the clothing on a day trip into Edinburgh and decided to have a cuppa and a cake. Friendly professional staff serving a good choice of teas, coffees and one of the best carrot cakes we have eaten all at surprisingly affordable prices.😁 Lovely ambience and great views over the Edinburgh city skyline......well worth a visit.
