My friends and I have eaten here many many times over the last 20 years and it never fails to be a great night.

The ladies who served us this last time were friendly and chatty as always.

The restaurant has changed to a Bellhaven chain restaurant but the food was still just as good and very reasonably priced. We had two mains for £11.99!!

I had the cajun chicken pasta and friends had curry and hunter's chicken, all of which were very tasty.

We will definitely be back again.

Great place to stay, our room was roomy and comfortable. It was very quiet at night so I had a lovely sleep. (We had a rear room) Nice food to go with the room and very friendly staff. Easy access to the city centre via bus, which are very frequent. Murrayfield stadium is across the way, so may be a bit busy at times. All in all a pleasant stay for a few nights.

Rooms need a little updating, they're very spacious rooms and the bed was very comfy. The room was clean. The service was very good. Breakfast was lovely . Location good, only took 10-15 minutes on the bus into Edinburgh and fare was capped at £4.80 so wasn't a rip off. All in all had a lovely time here and would book here again.

Great hotel, bar and restaurant. Food is fantastic. The traditional bar is well stocked and is a comfortable place to have a meal or drink. Above all, each and every member of staff are exceptional. The service from start to finish is the best in town. Well worth a visit.

We had a surprise planned for our nieces on Saturday. We had booked a table at a restaurant and planned to give them tickets to a Harry Styles concert. The staff were all in on the surprise and were very helpful. We would like to especially thank Josie and Carol. In addition to the surprise, we also had a lovely meal and enjoyed the restaurant's excellent beers and wines. We would definitely recommend this pub to others.

The Hampton has become over the years our preferred and favourite pub/restaurant on Rugby international days with Murrayfield Stadium only a very short walk away. The management and staff are first class so much so even when they are at their busiest their attention to service and their customers is in my opinion unsurpassed. Excellent selection of ales and a very good pint of Guinness. The food is 'Scottish traditional fare' which is of a good quality, very tasty and served piping hot which we recently enjoyed for a table of 21! Obviously I will return rugby or no rugby should I be in Edinburgh.

Visited before and after a recent Scotland rugby game at Murrayfield for food and drinks as part of a large group. We had a pre-match sit down meal before the game, the service was great, the food was tasty and overall it was good value for money. Post-match we went back for drinks. The staff worked hard all evening to enure there were never long queues at the bar and the drink prices were reasonable. I would recommend visiting here to add to your match day experience.

Good friendly traditional pub with good food. Beer garden is quiet and well-located, but could do with a wee tidy-up. Great staff!
