A very nice small place perfect for English breakfast which opens early. There is a seating arrangement for you to sit and eat, and also for quick takeaways. The all day veggie breakfast or the English full breakfast, served fresh and yummy with a smile. Cheap good food early morning.

Tiny cafe with very few seats but a big basic Scottish breakfast was really value for money. Hit the spot with a cuppa after getting off an overnight bus from London.

Hole in the wall greasy-spoon with tons of options for cheap. Popped in while en-route and service was fast and friendly. I look forward to going back.

Service in princes st snax can be very poor and disorganised so phone and preorder.

Super Snax. Tucked away in a secluded lane behind Princes Street is this busy little cafe. Frequented by local workers and students, it's huge menu (on boards outside) covers most breakfast and lunch options. The glass counter had an amazing selection of fillings for panninis and baguettes. I had the standard breakfast with a latte and it was served quickly by the friendly staff. It's quite small inside so it can be difficult to get a seat. Make the effort though as it's a great place and incredible value for money. Now on my favouites list and highly recommended.

...it provided us with solidly hearty stodge, to chase the cold away. Today we were hell-bent on sampling from their range of burgers, having already reviewed those on offer in McDonald’s and the Burger King , as part of this mini-odyssey. I was hoping to also sample from the burger van that I recall was parked outside St James’ Centre, offering tasty looking things, but sadly it seems to have been replaced by something called Crepe Array. Perhaps it will return soon. Anyway, to Snax we headed, choosing the route behind the galloping cuddy (as the ever reliable Mr Fleming reminds me, the horsey in question is named Copenhagen) carrying Wellington to triumph. This was for two reasons: to my mind, this is the correct route for negotiating the statue, and was the route I always took when a small child; and secondly, the tal

Despite being a greasy spoon, it offers lovely healthy options like Lentil Soup and Jackets filled to burst with Meditteranean salad. I discovered this hidden gem by chance. I was walking along Princes St, refusing to go in a touristy cafe which charges 6 quid for a sarnie when suddenly, I saw the Snax menu advertised.

In Edinburgh for two days to see the Tattoo. After our breakfast here on Day 1, we weren’t going elsewhere on Day 2. Fine dining it isn’t, but we didn’t expect that. However the food was well cooked, tasty and certainly not greasy. For good basic food at a fair price Snax Cafe does not disappoint. The picture shows the middle of three sizes of breakfast,

Fantastic spot for coffee and something light to eat. It’s a hidden gem! And by that a really mean it’s hidden - it’s off the main road in an ally so had to use Google maps to direct me. It was going to be a 4 star, but the breakfast roll and coffee turned it into a solid 5 for me. My daughter insists that it’s only a 4 because she deducted one point for the view. Will definitely be back!

Low fuss, delicious breakfast. Perfect when you’re looking for something to fill you up. Cooked well, coffee is strong for the UK. Standard double shot.

The best breaky roll I've had in the UK. Gotta try the haggis roll, it was simple but delish.

We each had a full Scottish breakfast here as our first breakfast in Scotland. It was a great introduction to a proper full Scottish. The place is small but very busy with a lot of locals stopping in for their regular orders. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. It's a great value for the money too - our two full breakfasts and coffees came to less than £15.

Pro: affordable price with standard quality of breakfast! Perfect for takeaway. Con: crowded and a long queue is waiting for you. Not the places that guarantee you a seat for dining in, with a toilet or even offer reservations.

Love a snax. Cheapest place in town for quality filling food. Double breakfast roll and a traybake for a fiver can't be beaten. Staff are pretty awesome too. Anyone who has spent any time around the centre as a youth knows this is the long running establishment for when you get the munchies

Recommended to me by a local, this place did not disappoint! A very authentic feeling place, and the food is absolutely true Scottish eats. Perfect for those who like to avoid tourist spots and eat like a local. The biggest breakfast is to die for! Go go go.
