Lovely little cafe on the beachfront of Portobello. We stopped in for a coffee and cake and it was a great escape from the cold windy weather outside. Seems like a really popular little spot especially for ice cream which amazes me that people are after I've cream in this cold weather!!
Fabulous food as always although staff seems a bit disorganised at times.
Location is ideal for a lazy beach afternoon with your loved ones :)
The Beach House Portobello is a great place for breakfast. They make great eggs benedict and pancakes and offer smoothies, breakfast rolls and some more unusual options, so something for everyone. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. They are kid friendly and every time we went it appears as mothers like to catch up at the beach house with each other and therefore it can get a bit noisy when you are indoors. Outdoors the seating is on the promenade which makes for great views but obviously people will walk past a lot. Sometimes, especially when it’s a sunny weekend, it gets really busy and we don’t think you can book tables ahead of time so maybe have alternative options planned. We tried some of the bakery options as part of a “Too Good To Go bag” and they were all quite dry but in store they might be a lot better. The service is nice but can be on the slower side. Overall a decent place to visit.

Great spot to have a good breakfast at Edinburgh beach. Staff is very friendly and gave us a small chat. The view is great and the food was also very delicious. But even for the awesome see view the prices are a bit over the top or the portions are a bit too small.
Very nice restaurant at the beach.
Luckily we got a table outside directly at the beach.
Very friendly and great service.
The food came fast and was delicious.
To have a great breakfast at the beach for the Start in the day this is a clear recommendation.
This place is a real gem. You feel as if you're being looked after as soon as you put a foot in the door. Lot's of friendly, smiling staff. Food is lovely. If it's busy, you may have to wait a while for food but it's not a fast food café, it's a good food café so worth the wait. Anyway most tables have a view over the beach so it's easy to pass the time.
A very pleasant place to have a drink, or some breakfast - (or lunch, or just cakes - the cakes looked very good!) It's right on the Portobello promenade, and you can eat outside - at several tables for 4 - or inside. I only stopped for a mug of tea (and had it outside) as it was early morning, but the customers at nearby tables were tucking into some nice-looking breakfasts. I think the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were £10, but they did look appealing.
My mug of tea cost £3.50 so it's not the cheapest place for a cuppa, but you're paying a bit more for a lovely view of Portobello beach and the Firth of Forth. They do takeaways.
I'd happily go back. Service was friendly and efficient.
Definitely a great place to visit and have a lunch or whatever you want just front of the Portobello beach.
I’ve been there twice with a friend and the place is very busy, sometimes you have to wait a little but it worth it. I was lucky the last time as we have 7 people before us but we got allocated prompt as we are only 2 people.
The waiting time to be served is not much, the staff is very friendly so I highly recommend this place.

Lovely! It was very busy for a Saturday breakfast, but it was worth it. Beautiful view of the sea, great quality of food, friendly staff and an amazing service.
I would highly recommend this place for afternoon tea or lunch. It’s so cozy to take a table near the sea, whether inside or outside, and enjoy nice coffee or cakes. I felt so relaxed in such a beautiful place. Also, staffs here are quite friendly and passionate.

Fantastic service all round. Great delicious food, served quickly as well. Staff are fantastic and attentive.
I've been coming to The Beach House for many years over the past decade and one thing that never surprises me is how busy and popular The Beach House is.
There's always a very steady flow of business and the reason for that is the food, the drinks and the current waiting staff.
Indoor and outdoor tables are available as well as takeaway options. It's situated in a great location along the promenade, so some great coastal views if you are lucky enough to grab a table by the window.
The oat milk cappuccino is a must for any lactose intolerant sufferers.
Food is always immaculately presented, very tasty and fresh.
