For cheap and tasty burgers-you cannot go wrong at Candy. Their 5 quid menu is such good value, and their current menu leaves you in one of those situations where you don't know what to get. Lived on the edge today and got the PBB- a burger with bacon aaaaaaand wait for it....PEANUT BUTTER. Elvis eat yer heart out. Was really tasty-if anything, could have done with more peanut butter. Cocktails were fab too, only thing that lets Candy down is the staff, it's never that busy when I go yet you seem to have to go out of your way to gets drinks every time. Defo a hot pick for somewhere to eat when Christmas Shopping.
I've only been to Candy on two occasions as it's more one of the "hidden gems" of Edinburgh's New Town and on both occasions I've thoroughly enjoyed it, but felt a little let down by the staff and bouncers.
As I've been there on a Friday night for both food and cocktails, it has inevitably been very busy so I just got the impression from the staff they buckled under the stress and pressure so came across a lot ruder than what they may be.
The food however at Candy is amazing, I've opted for the fahijtas and "Basic Beach" cocktail, which I thoroughly enjoyed and it did take a while to recieve, which was worth it as every second making it you could tell a lot of effort was put into it!
Had the mozzarella dippers, chips and hot dog when I ate here and found the food and drinks nice and reasonably priced. However service was slow and after we finished our food and ordered more cocktails it took a long time for these to arrive
Food is great value for money. It's £5.95 for a main and the portions are amazing. Christmas dinner looks brilliant as well, already booked for Dec and looking forward to a wee party...
Great for an afternoon lunch! Delicious meals under a fiver!!! Fish n Chips are goooood!!!
I read and seen a lot about this place and I tried last night!The location is super cool and in the heart of the city center in fact is the perfect place for not too cheap pre drinks before go clubbing!I had a candy club which was very good and the fries amaaaazing!Of course I tried one of the too many cocktails, bad romance, delicious!I loved this place perfect for a girls night out with good gossips and drinks!It's not cheap and the kitchen closes very early, only downs!:)
First time visiting and it did not disappoint. The food was lovely...we had the return of the mac burger with a side of garlic bread and onion rings. Everything was lovely the chips were nice and crispy but not too crispy. The onion rings were the stand out...wow they were amazing, crispy but fluffy, sweet but salty 10/10. Drinks were cheap as well and the service was quick and friendly.
I love this place! I’ve been a few times and will continue to come back. I was in on Friday and got the Candy Happy Meal (burger, served with regular fries but the upgrade to the sweet potato fries adds another £1) plus a cocktail (I got the Monster From The Blue Lagoon) for £8.50!! Such a great price! Scanning the QR code from the staff, my friend got a free drink at Indigo Yard! Amazing! Seriously recommend this place, it’s awesome!
My favourite place to go for cocktails! And their garlic bread and onion rings are delicious!
Reasonably priced too
Food was delicious and there was a great variety of options on the menu. All of my drinks tasted nice however there were not as many choices of unique cocktails with cotton candy etc in the drink which attracted me to here compared to the last time I visited here.
Came in for food and drinks and it was really good! The cobb wedge was really good. The drinks were really cute and garnished well!
Was recommended this place by a friend for my day trip up to Edinburgh for the Christmas markets, the cocktails were good, the bar was busy and there was a wait for food. We weren't bothered about food so we just grabbed a drink. The only downside was the cocktail menu we were giving said the cocktail price was £4.50 when in actual fact it was £7.50 for one. Apart from that all was good. We enjoyed the drinks and the staff were friendly.
Will definitley be returning all the time!! Cocktails were so fun (super sweet which is perfect for me) and a reasonable price. Our server was so kind (wish I grabbed their name, but we were there Wednesday evening, June 23 and it was so fab) and it was so speedy despite it being relatively busy. Can’t wait to come back :)
While sitting outside on a sunny day is enjoyable, the location isn't my preferred choice. I understand how it might appeal to teenagers, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone over 18 years old.
A lovely set up for our Christmas party last night. The staff were wonderful and very quick to correct any problems to arise. For a group of 15, we were very impressed!! Good dairy free & vegetarian options too!! We will return!!
Candy bar is fabulous. Didn’t know what to expect but the exterior is inviting and the decor as you can see was eye catching. The server was polite and helpful. The menu is great. Some Cocktails 4 pound some 8. I ordered off the 3 for 9 pound menu. So many items which I would of gone for and I ended up having mac and cheese ball, calamari and halloumi fries. I can’t recommend this highly enough. The food was outstanding! Such a welcome surprise to find this bar and will defiantly be coming back a million times over.
You MUST go here when in Edinburgh.

Candy 75 pink gin lemon juice and processo is just right. Goes down lovely.
