Came here for late lunch today. I had a parsley, leek and pear soup which was good. It was very tick and came with two loaves of bread. My friend had a chicken sandwich which he really liked as well. The service was very nice and the food came quite quickly. This is a nice wee cafe I would come back for coffee or food again if I would be in the area.
I popped in past here to get out of the cold and rain and have ended up stumbling upon a wee gem. This place is adorable with beautiful furnishing, quirky crockery and a homely feel to it. The staff were all very friendly, and made us feel welcome. We ordered deluxe hot chocolates, which were jaw dropping when they arrived, and tasted even better than they looked, and white chocolate blondies which were perfect as a late afternoon treat.
Maxi's is always busy and for a good reason. I've brunched here a few times and the food is wholesome, filling and tasty. I tend to gravitate towards their smoked salmon and poached egg offering which has never failed to disappoint.
This stockbridge staple has been 'serving the people of stockbridge since 1997' and they do so very well indeed! They have recently had a bit of a makeover which has helped them compete with the growing range of independent cafes in the area. The bacon and egg roll was cooked to perfection and the seeded roll it was served it was lovely too. The coffee was a perfect compliment to the bacon and strong but not too strong. The babycinno they made for little miss f was very sweet and even included a chocolate button much to her delight!
Delicious breakfasts make sure you try the bacon, pancakes and maple syrup! If you go in for coffee you won't be disappointed and they always have an amazing choice of cakes on offer.
Superb wee cafe. This is a class wee place - very inviting - everyone from young to old go here.
They have lots of wee goodies; cakes seem to be home baked, food is made to order and when you get it - delish!
I love to pop in for a lunch and take my time with a nice pot of tea.

Maxi’s was an impressive place, offering real quality. Their breakfast rolls, with sausages from nearby butcher George Bower, demand that I must visit again, so I look forward to that
A really cute spot for a coffee and cake. Very chilled vibes, love catching up with someone here. They’ve got an unreal selection of cakes, carrot cake is so good. Been here a fair amount of times and will be back soon again.
I am not sure how this poped up in our to-visit list for brunch but I am sure that we were happy that happened. We decided to visit around noon for brunch while in aread and we were amazed!
The food is very very tasty and you can easily spot that they use freash and good quality ingredients. The only comment/suggestion is that they may need to slightly expand the menu. After couple of times it may start to be repetitive if you don't want to expand on the cakes.

Take the classic butty and the meaty. Some of the best food I've ever eaten, which was completely unexpected. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the service was quick and welcoming, but even though it sounds exaggerated the food was incredible. Totally satisfied!
Lovely quaint café with a takeaway hatch being a nice touch. Cinnamon buns were not long on the plate! Coffee was good and the service was friendly and fast. Maybe one table too many cramped inside, but didn't take away from the experience

Came here after an awful experience at The Pastry Section. The staff here were lovely and attentive, the service was quick and the pastries and coffee were amazing. We had an almond croissant, a regular croissant, an oat flat white and a mocha. I also got one of their tote bags and it’s such good quality, will definitely be back
Lovely wee cafe with really quality sandwiches and light food, the server think possibly owner or manager was super friendly and was very hospitable to us bringing in a dog. Really enjoyed our meal and would 100% go back.
Lovely experience at Cowan and Sons. Very nice neighborhood feeling in this very charming cafe where we stopped by for our beverages and lunch nearby the Stockbridge Sunday market. Very calm and cozy atmosphere. Will certainly look forward to be back here soon.
Went for an afternoon coffee and cinnamon bun here. The staff were friendly and the cafe was well decorated.
I liked that there was a large communal table down the centre that lots of different people could sit at.
The coffee was tasty, but the cinnamon bun was bland. I liked how the cinnamon bun was from a local bakery company though!
The only downside that with the door open it was a little cold, and maybe a little cramped and busy to read comfortably. But a great place for a catch up with an old friend.
Beautiful cafe; we had a toastie and vegan bun and really loved both 🤍
