Just ordered from here, a wee pre payday treat and it was amazing. The green herb xhicken was the star of the show, I can't stop raving about it. The meat was so tender and I love the barbecue element, the sauce was the tastiest I've had in a very long time, wanted to scoff the lot. The tandoori platters was also excellent, perfectly seasoned and tender. We also got lamb jalfrezi and chicken Ceylon. Loved it all it gives you what we call a " curry high " that blissful warm contented and happy feeling that comes with great curry. Heartily recommend the Shapla.

I don't say this lightly - the East Indian Chicken Jalfrezi was honestly one of the best meals that I have ever had. I see some of the negative reviews for this place, and I just didn't experience any of that. The two people working were incredibly kind and welcoming, the food was certainly not dry, and the meal was amazing. For those of you who have a high spice tolerance, and are tired of asking for very spicy food and not getting the spice, Shapla has you covered! I highly recommend!

Still the best Indian takeaway in the Leith area. Perfectly seasoned. Loads of vegetarian choices. Consistently good and they are lovely folks. We've been eating from here since 2004. Recommended.

Best food I had in my three days spent in Edinburgh. Top quality indian food. I had the tandoori chicken tikka biryani. The chicken was extremely tender and the sauce insanely good.

First time and it was excellent really enjoyed the well cooked and seasoned food. Good size portion provided for the price asked.

The best Indian take away I've tried so far in Edinburgh and I've tried loads. Found it by mistake one night and am sure an angel guided me there because its definitely food of the gods. I've been working my way through the menu and its been a delightful experience.
