I’ve been coming here for about a year, really like the staff. They’re accommodating and this place is vegetarian and student friendly. I’m not a student personally but this is a nice place to do some work and have nice food/wine etc. They tend to have the news or football on and also music but it’s not too loud to work which is great. They deal tentatively with unruly customers (once in a blue moon) which is also worth mentioning. Thought I’d finally leave a review! ���
Great place. We had 2 for 1 pizza - which was gorgeous!! Our waitress was lovely and oversell a really lovely place! Would totally recommend!!!
My family love it here. The food is great and from mon to wed you get 1plus1 pizza. Veggie pizza is super veggie check out the pic! if u want healthy pizza go to JessieMays - or order all meat if u want meat like my husband. . They have various tap beer. I recommend Heverlee. They changed the menu few days ago.
Very pleasant. Comfortable seats. Allows my 15 yr. old nephew in.
Just drinks but a great bar to visit before or after rugby at Murrayfield.

Great pub, good prices, decent variety of food and beverages. The crowd and the service is great. 2 big screens to enjoy your sports. A great vibe all together on gorgie where there are considerable clubs. The owner is always on her toes. Definitely recommended. Do try out the salads and beer.
I’m a student nurse from Ireland and I’ve been coming to Jessie Mays for roughly the past year since moving to Gorgie. The staff from both the bar and restaurant (Altro Kitchen) have been nothing short of amazing and always go out of their way to make you feel at home. Every time I have family and friends visit from home this is the first place I take them and they really enjoy it. That’s down to the staff and lovely regulars. I feel strongly about defending the fact that this pub does not stand for harassment or abuse from personal experience as the staff have proven that to myself and friends by asking people acting inappropriately to stop or leave the premises without hesitation. This is a nice pub for all ages and to be honest the only decent place on gorgie so please drop in for a pint and some class pizza!
Clean and friendly. Food smelled nice, though I didn't have any myself. Close to a football stadium and rugby, so sports on tv, can be a bonus. If matches are on, it will get busy, so get a seat before the match ends.
Very neat and well kept pub. Excellent food served out of the kitchen..can't beat quality or cost for their food. Certainly worth a visit...best in Gorgie for sure...
A great local bar! Excellent music, great food, a good range of beer and wine as well as all the usual spirits. Friendly and helpful staff who interact with their customers. Wheelchair accessible and dog friendly are added benefits. There are food offers on different days, a quiz and live music too. Everything you could want from a pub! :)
Blue moon on draft brilliant beer 2 pints under a tenner superb.
