A MUST TRY if you’re in Edinburgh. This is my first time leaving a review but I couldn’t not write something after the incredible experience we had. Pomelo is a little gem. The noodles are an essential no matter the time of day- flavorful and chewy with various flavor options to please just about anyone. I got the peanut sauce and roasted veg noodles. They were incredibly flavorful but balanced and incredibly filling. The salads were also fantastic- we got the watermelon salad which was the perfect light and refreshing starter/side. As for the staff, they could not have been friendlier. Our waitress was kind, attentive and help us make our choices. The restaurant is small so you can hear the (v. talented) chef working just off the main dining area. The food tastes as though someone made it just for you - a guest in their own home - and the food comes to you the second it’s ready. The chef even came out after our meal to thank us for stopping by. The experience was heaven and I can’t wait to visit again.

We visited Pomelo for Sunday brunch, it’s just a tiny space so booking advised. The menu changes everyday and the staff kindly recommended how many dishes to order (we settled on 6 between 3 of us). The standout dishes were: - Prawn toast with Cantonese curry, super melt in the mouth and the curry sauce was perfectly sweet and spicy. - Salmon Aburi on toast - citrusy and spicy. - Sesame salad, crunchy and refreshing against the other fiery dishes. The hand ripped noodles and pickle plate were also really nice. The only dish that we ordered that none of were wowed by was the scallion garlic roll, it was a bit sweet for our liking (brioche style). Would have loved to have dessert but honestly we were all very full! Next time…. :) The table allowance time is pretty quick (1hr -1.15), which could be a shame if you’re hoping for a leisurely dinner. Otherwise, lovely staff and extremely delicious food, would go again!

Intimate setting that makes you feel like you’re sharing a meal with everyone around you. From the smiles and empty plates around us you could tell everyone was having that same experience of a delicious meal. From the staff to the chef himself we could feel the love put into the service and food. If you are from here or traveling here I highly recommend Pomelo.
