Elgin Public House

This was not my first time there... I can't believe they are open until 2AM but we went in at 11 o'clock on a Friday night and the kitchen was closed. So sad... it's a great place, good atmosphere, good beer but I can't get over the fact of not being able to get a bite to eat... just Let people know that you won't have food available...

Not too sure where to start, but the atmosphere here is a great. But the FOOD... not one thing was less than amazing. My daughter ordered the turkey avocado bacon fold. She couldn’t stop raving how good it was. Myself went simple with the turkey Melt... nothing was simple about it. Perfectly crisped bread with the best cut turkey. But the best Sandwich was the pork belly BLT. The slaw was a great surprise to add to the taste. Will be getting that again! Don’t usually order dessert, but we got the waffle with ice cream and strawberries... just amazing we finished the whole thing! And almost forgot about the amazing nachos we had and fried pickles!! The staff is amazing and whoever is cooking they do it perfectly will be coming back more often to keep trying new things!! Thanks for a great experience it was so good!

Delicious food. Pork belly was crispy and tender. Appetizers hit the spot. Shrimp had great seasoning (cajun, cilantro,lime, and etc) Fried pickles had a crispy and savory batter crust with a yummy salty pickle. Mac and cheese was a great side item. Fish was fried really good and the sauces made it taste amazing. Had a great time overall and gotta thank the waitress for friendly service.

I enjoyed the place, the food was delicious! though I will say if you order that wagyu burger with the bourin cheese spread on it ask for the cheese on the side because it makes the burger very messy. My server was top notch. The decor was very dated and the chairs at the tables were substandard, cheap metal frame with next to no padding. I'd definitely order to go as opposed to staying there next time around but I'll definitely be returning.

This neighborhood restaurant/bar has the BEST Bar-B-Q ribs - called Bucket of Bones on the menu .You get 1 lb of ribs - fries- cole slaw AND a bucket to put the bones in . The meat is SO tender the only thing in the bucket are CLEAN bones. Have had this 4 times already and have never been disappointed.
