Nice place, the staff were friendly and apologetic for the problems with the menu and music not working. As with many chain restaurants the menu is pretty dull for vegetarians and offered very little choice, the staff kindly offered us another option we could take. A point to note is that you have to specifically ask to not have your chips seasoned if you don't like an excess of salt!

A lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. It really does have a French ambience. The food was delicious, French onion soup, followed by Moules. The only negative for me was the price of the wine. I dare say that that the quality was good, but was beyond my lunchtime treat budget. The beer was nice though.

Our second time visiting here. Always a lovely relaxing visit. Love the decor here- nicely laid out and never feel rushed. Always seem to be able to get a table when I've visited without the wait. Staff are always attentive and friendly. Served by Klara on our last visit and nothing seemed too much trouble- excellent service.

Whilst exceptionally busy this lunch time with only two staff members on, and there being a wait for service; they worked their socks off and still maintained really good service and both very warm and friendly in their approach to customers. Well done for clearly a pressurised lunch service with only two staff. Well done to the two people working today. Food and drinks were equally as delicious having the afternoon tea and an additional cappuccino and got chocolate between us. Yum!

Had a Groupon deal for our meal, staff were very friendly and explained what was part of the offer. I wore hoop earrings and somehow managed to loose it. Went back to the restaurant thinking I definitely had it there. And after explaining where I sat before they helped me find it. Great place, I would definitely go again

Well, what an amazing start to the New Year. Arrived without a table reservation and we were welcomed and given a lovely window table. We ordered steaks with all the trimmings and these were cooked to perfection. We had ice cold bucks fiz, desserts and then coffee. This was our best meal experience in months and shall return as soon as we can. Thank you to all the staff for a superb experience. Jean

We have often popped in for lunch at Cafe Rouge when shopping in Princesshay, as we are assured of a good standard of menu choices at affordable prices and great service. Besides, the atmosphere at Cafe Rouge is always warm and welcoming, especially when the English weather is playing hardball, as it was last Thursday. We were very wet and hungry and ordered our lunches as quickly as possible and waited...and waited. Suddenly, the Manager, Simon, appeared at our table with apologies for our long wait and an explanation for it. His friendly and professional handling of the situation was perfect and we were delighted to find that he had knocked the price of our two drinks from the bill. Thank you Simon and thank you Cafe Rouge for another lovely lunch - and, the sun had come out by the time we left!

We were a couple on a weekend away. Visited Café Rouge for a light dinner and were well satisfied with the food and the service. Partner got served the wrong soup but the response was instant and effective. Chatted to staff who appear very happy in their work. Just a fun place to eat out - recommended! Then we had a 241 breakfast offer and went back the following morning and enjoyed an excellent breakfast. We'd go back there anytime we are down that way.

Saturday evening 8 February. Booked a table for two adults and two children. Adults had intended to have steak and wine offer for two priced at £24.95. Told that this was not available unless you stipulated when booking that you wanted to make use of that offer. Apparently this is stated on the website. But try finding where it states that you have to pre-book for that offer! Rather sharp practice and rather disappointing.
