A great pub with heaps of history. We had the 1/2 chicken Sunday roast which was a good size serving with lots of vegetables. If you are a big eater would definitely recommend. The service was prompt and the waitress came half way through our meal to ask if everything was okay.
Happy Customer.
The food was beautiful and the drinks were poured very nicely, lively Guinness I must say. The young lady who made my experience was called aria and helped guide me through the menu for all my allergies.
Would recommend 10/10
Atmospheric and historic pub in the heart of Exeter. Busy and bustling with lots of interesting corners and spaces upstairs and down. Staff welcoming, friendly and efficient. Good range of real ales (for a Greene King house) including the Ship Inn Ale - a tasty traditional bitter that is quite light on alcohol at 3.2. Interesting menu, with well cooked tasty food at decent prices for a city centre location. Good sized portions, particularly the steak and ale pie, which remarkably is an actual pie (as opposed to the usual dish with a bit of puff pastry on top).l Thoroughly enjoyed our two visits during a recent visit to Exeter.
Also - very dog friendly. 🐕
