This is a fantastic Chinese restaurant in Exeter and deserves to do very well. Great location. Some reviews seem unfair - though the positive ones reflect the meal I had this evening as a fan of Sichuan food. Service was extremely friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. I asked to order from the authentic Chinese menu and had La Zi Ji (Sichuan Mala Chicken, 辣子鸡) and some soup. Please do ask for the alternate menu if you want to experience some real Chinese food as the more people order it, the higher profile it will have in the restaurant and this could be the best Chinese in Exeter. 🥢

Lovely sweet & sour Chicken and their egg fried rice is nice- the cutlery isn't always looking clean & tidy, the guest toilets are not so clean either and it does get quite cold in there, especially if you sit by the window - so maybe this is something they can work on!?? Otherwise it's a lovely cuisine and reasonably priced as well.

Entered at 2.30pm as they were closing. We were 7 people on holiday and hungry. It was Boxing day and the chef said yes to cook us dinner. The food was spectacular compared to all the rubbish we'd previously had and the service was a breath of fresh air. 100% brilliant.

When you visit Tang Shian you will be given the option of two menus. The authentic Chinese or the Western Menu. If you're after a western Chinese then you've made the wrong choice. This place has a fantastic authentic Chinese food menu that whilst not being your average selection is packed with great options. Venture out of your comfort zone and try some quality food. This place will not disappoint.

Deserves a lot more credit than a 3.8 star rating. Me and my family have been going for about 3 years now. The staff are lovely, friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and the decor is beautiful. Highly recommend.

Recently discovered and now a firm favourite - definitely the best Chinese restaurant in Exeter. Not too greasy and everything tasted fresh and authentic. The host was a lovely lady and we felt really well looked after. Will be going back very soon!
