We used to regularly eat here for many years when owned by Trevor and Jane and the food was always amazing. There was unfortunately a degree of decline when they left however is under new management now and what a transformation, the place is certainly on the up again. Last night I had the Rack of Lamb, which was cooked to perfection, served with vegetables and mash, again cooked to perfection. As for the gravy, well, you'll just have to try it for yourselves! For desert I went for the cheese board, which was a real treat and no ordinary cheese board as it came with honey, walnuts, apple, raspberries, along with four different cheeses and a generous collection of crackers. Outstanding food, generous portions, friendly service and a well kept pint. The best meal I've had here for sure and a menu that will have me returning to sample the other options.
We called here yesterday at 2.15 for a drink and a bite to eat . We chose 2 courses £12.95 I ordered garlic mushrooms ( to die for ) followed by the turkey dinner . It tasted amazing . My Hubbie ordered turkey dinner followed by ham roly poly and custard . We left the pub very happy with full bellys . The service was outstanding and the staff were very polite and approachable .... nothing was a chore . Joanne ( the manager spoke to us for about 10 mins ) and we found her very professional and friendly .
We're going to return with our parents and treat them to a meal in January as Joanne gave us some vouchers for 20% off.
A most excellent stop off for Wonderful food and specialist roasted coffee. The welcome is very warm and the service is first class. The menu is changed from time to time and additions made which can be requested to be left off. A firm ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Borderline Eleven 😎
Really nice dog friendly pub. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Would defo return again. Nice little beer garden.
Got here just as they were opening for the day. Came with my dog (the whole pub is dog friendly) and spoke to the owner who was a very welcoming man. Had a bite to eat and sat outside, great experience.
Quite little pub in a picturesque village with good food. Perfect stop of if you're planning a walk around the ings.
Use to be a frequent visitor for many years when Trevor, Jane and family had the pub, when they moved out it went downhill drastically and we only visited once after that! We heard it was under new management with Sharon at the helm and Shaun back in the kitchen so we gave it a try and was not disappointed, excellent food an beer and great staff, chuffed to bits it is back on form. Well done guys!
It sad to see this lovely little pub not busy. The landlady was welcoming. It just needs people to go in & use the place. It opens at 12 noon every day. Opening times information on the Internet is incorrect.
Just been for a taster evening for the new menu on offer from Wednesday 19th May 2021. The food was very tasty, well presented and served with a smile! Can't wait to go back and try different dishes. The Landlord and his team have certainly worked hard. As usual excellent handpulled beers. Would highly recommend a visit.
Great drinks and bar service. Good limited to pizza’s and sandwiches until they get a chef on board. Great atmosphere though well worth a visit.
Visited for lunch today with our son who has additional needs.
Excellent experience.
The food was lovely and the staff were very helpful and understanding of our son's needs.
The covid safety measures were all in place and we were made to feel very welcome.
Will definitely return
A friendly village pub. Pleasantly surprised by £3 for a pint of Wainwright’s Golden Beer when many other pubs charge nearly £5. Good food although not a great choice on Sundays but if you like a traditional Sunday dinner this is the place to go.
