We visited for lunch on a soggy day in October. Lovely family run cafe. Great menu with homemade chutneys. Best vegan toasted sandwich I've ever had. I was told the sausage sandwich was superb too. Definitely worth a detour if you are in the area.

The Wisteria is a hidden gem worth seeking out. We found it in Sept. while on holiday nearby. We also returned in November as part of a group going to the Christmas Spectacular at Thursford. The food on both occasions was excellent as was the service.we will certainly go there again when close enough. We definitely recommend the Wisteria.

Hidden in a secluded courtyard this little cafe is an absolute gem. Welcoming staff and home cooked food in a cosy environment away from the noise of a bustling town

Birthday afternoon tea for my niece.I am gluten sensitive - staff had made tremendous effort to prepare suitable food- beautiful freshly made sandwiches for all 3 of us - well filled & so much more than the usual cheese, egg mayo at most establishments.Gluten free scones, lemon drizzle and choc brownies! We all had to take "doggy" bags home- you certainly wouldn't leave hungry. Lovely touch of birthday balloon on table. Staff so amiable and nothing seemed too much trouble- my 3rd visit & can genuinely say do visit- you won't be disappointed.

It would be quite easy to miss this establishment as it is off the main street but it's well worth seeking it out. We visited for lunch and really enjoyed what we had. I can particularly recommend the sweet chilli chicken. The portions are huge! It's a family run business and this shines through in the fantastic service. The history of the building is interesting and there's a fascinating framed letter in the gent's loo! We've not yet tried their Sunday lunch but the menu looks great.

Had an amazing time, the food was delicious with good portion sizes. The staff were very friendly and could not have done more for us. Would highly recommend, we will be returning.

Friendly staff have an excellent understanding of catering for Coeliacs - most dishes can be GF. I chose a delicious, crispy, toasted Gluten Free panini with fresh, beautifully presented salad and crisps. Tea came with a buttery GF biscuit on the side plus a timer to create the perfect brew! Portions are generous, prices fair, service excellent and the ancient wisteria stunning.

Freshly prepared and very tasty food. Good sized portions attractively served. Quality ingredients and great value for money. Very clean pleasant surroundings away from the traffic and noise on the street. Staff very pleasant and working very hard indeed. There have been some earlier reviews citing delays between ordering and serving. Yes it wasn’t pit stop speed, but it did take a reassuringly appropriate amount of time such that the food could be freshly prepared. I’ve never heard of anybody asking their surgeon to rush or to hurry up. Well I feel exactly the same way about hard working staff preparing my food. Well done and keep up the good work! Perhaps think about doing occasional (Saturday?) evening meals please?

This was our second visit having returned to Fakenham from a trip a few years earlier. We were very impressed by The Wisteria on our first visit and our return visit didn't disappoint. The food is homecooked with very tasty special touches and beautifully served. The selection of teas was superb and the cakes excellent - I'm usually disappointed with café cakes finding that they don't taste as good as they look but the cakes we tried were every bit as scrumptious as they appeared. Without a doubt we'll be calling in our next visit.

We popped in here for a coffee which shopping in the town. It is situated in a courtyard off the main street and could easily be missed - that would be such a shame! We received a lovely greeting from the lady behind the counter and the drinks we received were excellent and reasonably priced. The room has a lovely, cosy feel and it is somewhere I won't hesitate to visit again, when I can try their food too.

Having heard reports about the Wisteria we decided to pay a visit. Tucked away at the end of a yard off the Market Square it is well worth looking for. Lovely atmosphere, staff who coouldn't do enough to make you welcome and superb food. What more could you wish for.

Had read about this on line and managed to find it behind scaffolding and down the alley. Lovely home cooked food, reasonable prices and pleasant service. Pleasure to visit from London whilst holidaying in Norfolk.

Popped in and enjoyed a good pot of tea and an excellent brie, gammon and fig jam sandwich. The place was busy and I was somewhat pressed for time as I had to catch a bus. I explained my situation to the waitress and she served me promptly, efficiently and with a pleasant demeanour. In view of the high quality of what I ordered, the good service, the pleasant ambience, etc., I am certainly inclined to return to the Wisteria whenever I am in Fakenham and would urge others to go there too.

We called in to this restaurant on the way to Thursford Christmas show. The lady who looked after us was superb and very attentive. The food was freshly prepared and served with a smile. The homemade cakes were delicious too... Especially the ginger cake 😋😋
