Found this place after watching American BBQ Showdown on Netflix and searching for a proper BBQ place nearby. After eating here I felt like one of the judges 👌 absolutely delicious food. We had the combo platter so tried some of every meat and it was all amazing 😋 also a very friendly atmosphere, lots of people made a nice fuss of our dog and our baby ❤️
Finally made it here! Love the set up with the old grain silo and wood fire in the centre. The pit emanated the smell of wood fire and was very enticing!
There is a good menu selection of all the usual bbq suspects. I opted for 3 meats - pulled pork, brisket and pork rib. All the meat was really well smoked and tender. The coleslaw was fantastic and the beans with burnt ends were great too!
The fries which is came with were a let down. They tasted like old oil which was a bit of a let down. In addition to this, I was really disappointed to see that they didn’t provide any homemade bbq sauce. I would have expected that with such labour and love in creating fantastic meat, that they would also put out homemade sauces to complement.
Overall, the meat was fantastic but the accompaniments could have been improved to match their quality. The price was right and I was wholly satisfied to have this on my doorstep.
We went on a wet and windy autumn night at the end of the season, but the grain silo seating area and the fire did the job! And the food was great! The ultimate combo is a must try! The staff were really friendly and the pit master knows what he is doing :) will be back next season!!
Had some lovely food here with some good friends stopping by after a busy day, managed to catch the end of the car meet. food was lovely and staff were attentive and polite. Ice cream milk shakes were awesome! Great and welcoming atmosphere
Had a meal here last night. Lovely home smoked meats from a huge smoker which was self built by the owner, lovely slaw and pickles and ice cold beer. Very American and sit down in an old converted grain silo. Would recommend.
Awesome place with proper smoked food. The brisket is the best I’ve had this side of the pond. Well done.
Great food. Loved the beef brisket, great cut of meat! Really friendly atmosphere and a great place to let children have some freedom and play in the field within the eyesight of parents. Will definitely be returning!
Food excellent, was concerned if the sharing combo was enough for 4 people pleased to say it was and my 2 dogs had tge left overs,very friendly helpful guy that owns it will return when ever we are in the area

Thanks Ray and Natasha for an awesome few evenings at the Crystal Lakes site. We will be re-visiting next weekend again :)
