What can I say, amazing food. Scallop and black pudding roll to die for and the seafood platter yummy. If in Fionnphort stop by you won't be disappointed.
If you're on Mull then a visit to The Creel in Fionnphort for battered scallops and chips is an absolute must !! The scallops are big, juicy, and delicious, served in a light and crispy herb batter with a sweet chilli mayo and hand-cut skin-on chunky chips. Seats are available so you can sit and enjoy the sunshine but I dined from the roof of my car whilst watching the ferry glide back and forth across the emerald green Sound of Iona.
Wish I could give the girls 10 big stars for their amazing place - rather than the maximum 5 - as this is NOT your average takeaway. It's a big bit special, it's beyond excellent, it's simply outstanding!
Very friendly staff. We called again after finding this place last year. They did not have squid today but we had battered langoustine instead; it was so nice and fresh. The scallops were amazing, massive, juicy, so fresh and cooked to perfection (pink and tender). We had forgotten how good the chips were( not your average frozen variety!). Would highly recommend if you like fresh seafood.
The food was delicious and fresh. Got off the 3pm ferry and spent around £40 on my family of 4. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the mussels in white wine sauce was great, and the atmosphere was awesome!
Lovely fresh lobster. Sitting outside. Staring at the sea. And by the way… they serve good chips too.
Fantastic chippie right by the ferry terminal. We tried fish cakes, haddock and lobster with chips and mushy peas and loved all of it! Very friendly staff as well. A great way to end a day out on the Isles, sitting by the Sea, watching the sunset and munching on a lovely meal from Creel’s.
Went to see Iona (from a distance). Found this shack service decent seafood and chips. What's not to like?
A lobster with a view!
We really enjoyed our food from The Creel Seafood Bar. After a long (and rather rainy) walk around Iona, we hopped off the ferry and headed to the seafood hut.
My 12 year old and I had a half lobster and chips. My husband and 7 year old had haddock and chips. All were freshly cooked. The lobster was succulent and flavourful, complemented by a well-balanced garlic butter that enhanced but didn't overpower the taste of the lobster. The chips were absolutely delicious. The batter of the haddock was beautifully seasoned and had herbs which was a lovely twist.
Not only was the food great, but we sat outside on picnic benches and had a glorious view out to Iona. If you are in the area then I highly recommend this place.
We stopped here after getting off the ferry from Iona and what a find! It’s a very small place with just three tables, but the food was incredible! We tried the mussels (and we got a huge bowl). The langoustines was also a large portion and the chips were good.
The view is beautiful and we were so happy to have stumbled upon this amazing seafood place.
Rare gem!
Great wee shack serving a wide range of fish and seafood with chips and some cold platters / sandwiches. Maybe not the cheapest and I’ve had slightly better chips but the location is incredible and it’s only in a shed! Service was great dealing with the queues of hungry people coming off the Iona ferry.
Enjoyed excellent Haddock and Chips here came back the following day for half a lobster and garlic butter, my Dad had the seafood chowder. Small place with friendly staff, decent prices for tasty food. I would recommend saving your appetite to stop here after returning from the Staffa boat tour. Great way to end a day.
Amazing fish and chips (possibly the best I've ever had) with lovely views and served with a smile and a chat. Thank you 😊
