Lovely pub to have lunch with family. Great size, fantastic decor and charm. Decent food, and the chef even agreed to cook our daughter's chicken nuggets so they looked similar to a famous high street brand in order to encourage her to eat them. Staff brought drinks to our table as well once we'd sat down as a group so great service. Beware of the parking charges - the pub car park is only free for paying customers, a fact which I did not notice on the day of our visit and subsequently received a parking fine from Euro Car Parks. Thankfully Alex at the Oatsheaf was extremely helpful and got the charges removed because we were paying customers.

Came down from Pontypridd to spend the day with my son and grandsons. They had booked a table for lunch for all of us . From the moment we arrived we were looked after so well. The staff were polite and friendly,I am in a wheelchair and was looked after perfectly. The food was amazing,we all had different and each of the six meals was perfect. Thanks to all of you we will definitely be back next time down.

Service was good and attentive. Scallops starter was amazing. But the steak was disappointing. Ordered bone in ribeye steak but served with a normal ribeye steak instead. The waiter changed it but a bone in sirloin was served. It was overcooked not medium rare. Quality was so so. The sides were not as described in menu. Overpriced.

My Wife and I like the Oatsheaf as a pub and consider it our ‘ Local’ . The staff are great and the range of drinks and it’s position in the town mean it’s very popular. That said we haven’t eaten there for a couple of years . That will now change . We tried the ‘ Wine and Dine Experience’ and it was truly enjoyable and great value . The offer ,for those interested ,is available Thurs to Saturday. At £100 per couple it includes any starter / main/ dessert ( or cocktail ) . The wines available in the offer are approx £45 per bottle normally. We had the Scallop risotto as a starter which was excellent, followed by a Fillet Steak ( medium rare) and a Ribeye ( medium) with sides , sauces etc . We swapped the dessert for an expresso martini as we were full by this stage. The steaks were cooked perfectly to order Indeed the meal was lovely and the ambience in the smaller dining area was spot on . Lovely staff !! We will be trying the Chateaubriand next ! Vince & Mel

Not the cheapest of places, we spent about £40 a head with a main, dessert and a pint each. The food is very good though and I can highly recommend the roast belly pork. Parking is free if you remember to input your reg on the tablet at the bar.

Fabulous wait staff. Food not bad. Room for improvement though. Steak not the most flavourful and crackling with pork belly was not really edible. Overall though we had a nice lunch.

Fantastic food, really impressed with the variety. Waiting staff were attentive and polite. Overall experience was really good. Only slight criticism is that the noise was quite overwhelming with low ceilings and full tables. I was with 2 people who wear hearing aids and they both said that the noise was the only thing that let it down.
