Hart House

I visited Hart House for dinner for the first time last night. The food was superb and the service from Maria was efficient and her knowledge of gluten free options for my friend was impressive. She even conjured up a spicy mayo sauce to go with my chicken burger. The fried chicken starter was bursting with flavour. The only small downside which hasn't affected my rating was the menu seemed a little limited. I think a couple more main dishes would have been added to the variety. I would be very happy to come back.

I have eaten in Michelin star restaurants all over the world, and hand on heart I can honestly say the Hart House is up there with them. Their menu is not extensive, but what they do, they do extremely well and the service is so warm, I can only say that it has been an absolute pleasure to dine here tonight. Thoroughly recommended.

My mum brought us all here for a roast dinner and we all agreed that it was one of the best, if not the best roast dinners we’ve all eaten in a long time. Chef’s are clearly very passionate about their food! Staff are smartly dressed, polite and attentive. Highly recommend and will be visiting again.

We had Sunday lunch, 15 of us for my daughter's birthday. We were greeted nicely by Jaye and other staff as soon as we walked through the door. Can't fault the staff, all very friendly. 3 of our party had burgers, everyone else a roast. Food was very nice, that is the burgers and the roast beef dinners were.... The pork roasts though are described in the menu as "roasted pork loin", this was not the case and the 4 who had the pork were rather disappointed when their plates arrived. Instead of some nice slices of a pork loin joint, as expected, they had one pork loin chop on the bone. These were pretty dry and not easy to cut, so my family didn't totally enjoy their meals. The beef on the other hand was perfect and really good. So my main feedback would be for Hart House to change the Sunday menu to reflect that it's a pork loin chop, on the bone and not advertise a roasted pork loin. This is my only criticism. But saying that, we will return, it's clean and bright and modern inside. And the staff are great. And we had a generous discount at the end as it was for my daughter's 21st. So thanks again.

We had a super evening celebrating my wife's 50th birthday with friends in the upstairs private room. The buffet was delicious although we did order far too much. Organizing the event with Jay and Michael was seamless and the barmaid on the night Ro was really lovely and did a great job. Happy Customer, Thank you all, Joe

Cannot get over just how good the food is here. This was our second visit in less than 2 weeks and this time we had the roast dinner - it was sold out the week before. Just wow! Chicken cooked to perfection, perfect parsnips and roasties, cauli cheese and plenty of gravy! The wait staff are super friendly and helpful and the chef is just amazing. I went with a friend both times but would feel very comfortable eating here alone which I think is a really big positive. I highly recommend trying the menu, in fact it's 50% off on a Monday!!
