It was our second visit, some time after our first, because the place is always full. That's all you need to know really. The ambience is warm and friendly, tables not too close together and the food is sublime. I think the secret is great ingredients cooked perfectly, which sounds obvious but we've eaten in many places where the bacon is underdone (or overdone) and the sausages don't have an awful lot of meat in them. The staff are lovely and it's a tremendous place to while away the time. Best breakfast in Folkestone (and for quite a few miles around to be truthful).

Excellent full English, happy to accommodate one change and what a delight to find a chef who knows how to cook tomatoes and add herbs to enhance. This is a rarity! The quality of ingredients was excellent, bacon nice and crisp as requested, delicious sausage. Friendly and warm service, clearly a popular place with some tables reserved. I asked for both my drinks (chai and flat white) to be extra hot. They were reasonably hot but not extra hot. I always ask everywhere I go because I can't bare tepid drinks! Highly recommended! What a gem this place is. ..first visit here, they listened to what I wanted and executed my scrambled eggs perfectly, first eatery that has ever done this for me. Perfect. Thank you ...also staff here are so nice.

Just had lunch here at the Gourmet Kitchen. Today I had the mushroom and leek gratin, tried it a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t disappoint today either. My husband had the vegan breakfast which he declared to be delicious. We (friends and family) have been eating here since Corinne opened in 2019 and always come away with a satisfied smile, she and her team are so caring and considerate it’s like visiting friends, and you’re treated to something delicious every time. Our four legged little girl loves it here too, she’s always as welcome as we are.

We recently held a Memorial Afternoon / Evening here for our Mum and Daughter. Due to Covid restrictions we couldn't give these two very special ladies the celebration of their lives, and our love for them, they deserved.
Corinne was extremely accomodating and her team were terrific, the food as always was superb. This enabled us to give a fitting tribute to our lovely ladies. It was rather poignant to hold it here as Mum worked there back in the day when it was the Frogmore Tea rooms.

The very best Coffee served in Folkestone. The foods, the take-away bits n pieces and the cakes are all top notch. All served in a relaxed, modern and stylish environment. It also always seems to be playing some of my favourite music too. This is my favourite place to break my fast.

I am a local and I love going to the GK for brunch, afternoon tea or a cheeky Apérol Spritz! The coffee is very good and the staff are all lovely.

Really nice choice of breakfasts - we had croque madames which were delicious. Nice to get tea in a pot, rather than tea bag in a mug. Friendly, helpful service. And you can buy Dockers bread there. Fab.
