Absolutely amazing food and service. We were in Fort Wiliam for the weekend and it was our wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday so fancied something a little bit special. This definitely did not disappoint. We both had the mussels to start, with my husband having the Scallop, Pork Belly & Black Pudding off the specials board and I had the pancetta wrapped monkfish. The most delicious meal we have had for some time. The superb food was made even more enjoyable by the outstanding views over the loch and the lovely friendly staff. Will be back in July and will definitely make a point of eating here again.
First class menu & food served by very able and curteous staff. Quality of meal was excellent and price was reasonable for 2 course meal with a bottle of wine. Dined there on a Thursday evening and due to the high standard of food it was of no surprise that it was busy. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would be delighted to go again next time I am in the area
Amazing service! Accepted us although we arrived 5 minutes before closing, which made our long day of travelling so much better.
Ordered the pork belly and scallops, mushroom and tarragon soup (not pictured), and halibut.
The scallops were the highlight, so fresh you could almost taste the sea with each bite. The pork belly was a wonderful balance of fat and meat, but nothing special. The blood pudding was definitely unique and quite rich, but again nothing special.
The soup was amazing, with just the right balance of cream and mushroom. Not too rich, not too bland. Finished it in 5 minutes flat! The bits of chopped mushroom in the soup elevated the flavour to another level and gave it an interesting texture. Definitely a must have!
The halibut was cooked to perfection, although it was a bit bland. The risotto and mushy peas complemented the dish well in terms of flavour. However, since the halibut was quite soft as well, the dish lacked crunch. So, each bite started feeling like eating porridge, although it was a quite delicious one.
Crannog - 100% excellent - food outstanding, service - second to none, restaurant set-up, views and ambiance - perfect. You will need to book ahead for this very popular eatery. Although very busy, you will experience personal and attentive care from the waiting staff, a vibrant though quiet restaurant and melt-in-your-mouth food. The menu has a wide selection with everything cooked with fresh and local ingredients and to a very, very high standard. I am sorry that I did not take any photos of our meal - but do go this easily missed excellent seafood restaurant. Shout out to Angie and Naomi who went above and beyond to ensure we had a special time (I think this is their priority for all diners!)
A visit to The Crannog was a special treat for us as we were touring the area on our honeymoon. And we were so glad we booked. I first visited The Crannog 20 years ago and it was still as wonderful as I remembered.
Such a beautiful setting on the pier over the water, definitely ask for a table by the window! We watched the sun setting over the mountains and the seagulls while we ate.
The food was delicious with a good variety on the menu, perfect portions and all beautifully presented. I had the summer vegetable tart to start and he had the sweet cured herring. We followed with lemon sole and Shetland salmon and finished with honey roasted peaches and pear and elderflower custard tart. All simply wonderful.
We received fantastic customer service from friendly staff who all took the time to congratulate us on our wedding. What a great evening, we wish we lived closer so we could visit again sooner.
We were very lucky to get a table at this incredibly popular location! Right on the water with a great view and the food was absolutely delicious, a great end to a day's trek up Ben Nevis! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. We had the Cullen Skink for starter and mussels and lemon sole for mains, with a side of broccoli, all fantastic! All in all, a great experience that is not to be missed 👌🏼
Most devine food - ranges among the best we’ve ever had! Everything was to die for and the compositions excellent! Location was super cute on the Loch.
We wish we had stayed longer in Fort Williams to be able to eat here again!
The most amazing dinner out here tonight in front of the best scenery. Staff all super lovely and friendly, very understanding of allergens, food was brilliantly tasty and very reasonably priced.
Lovely location and stunning views. It was tied with The Coast in Langbank as best meal I have had in Scotland. The dessert was the tastiest dessert I have ever had in my lifetime. Drinks came after appetisers but waitress was very sweet. Wish they had a cheaper lunch menu as the meal ends up being very expensive for lunch as it is the same one as dinner.
Lucky to get a table for lunch without reservation. Menu looked pricey but food excellently prepared (maybe a little bit too much salt) place is very busy even on weekdays. Photos: lemon sole, trout, hake. Total £65.
What a gem of a restaurant in a fairly remote spot in Scotland! Great views with sunset rays beaming into this cosy little restaurant. We were blessed with great weather in Port William.
The food was out of this world. Fresh, creative and well balanced. From the octopus starter, crab tart to the fish soup (akin to boulabaise) and lobsters - all were magnificent. Even the Glen Spean IPA had a very unique flavour which complemented the meal.
Overall 5 star with tip top service.
Beautiful place in a romantic setting on the Loch. Staff was friendly. The seafood was tasty and fresh. 4/5 only as the tiny oysters were not value for money at all.
Wonderful seafood dinner with beautiful views of the loch. We enjoyed our meal very much. Definitely recommend.
