Each time I'm in the area I come here. Still the best ploughman's in the area. I had the veggie quiche ploughman's. Fabulous.
As always a great selection of beer and cider.
Lovely pub, with big garden and in pleasent location on the edge of the New forest. Good selection of ales and beers. Theirs also a good selection of a ploughman's at fairly good value. This is a good starting point for some great walks
Wonderful ploughman lunch and the lemon cake with homemade lemon curd was incredible! Very friendly pub with a great garden and a view one wishes to wake up to every morning!
Quaint welcoming little pub. Delicious ploughman’s, ingredients are fresh. Saw on TV and definitely worth the hype. Friendly quick service. Only comment would be perhaps serve the food on larger plates. Will be returning!
It was a nice meal on a sunny day. The outside was a lovely setting, hearing the lambs bleating, watching the horses grazing, and the sparrows flying around. Ordered a sweet potato and feta quiche and honey glazed gammon. I wish there were more options but I think this was their lunch menu.
Who knew a ploughman's could be done in so many different ways. We ordered the pork pie, butternut squash and feta quiche, nettle cheddar and mackerel ploughman's. They all came with homemade Coleslaw, salad, roasted vegetables and pickled red onions and 2 with a sourdough baguette. Delicious 😋
Great country pub, think open fires, a warm atmosphere and genuine hospitality. I'm sad to read a recent review about grumpy staff; this was entirely the opposite of my experience. It's well staffed so there's never a wait, and all the interactions were lovely and open - felt like a wonderful team. I loved the limited menu, and they've honed what they do: soup and ploughmans is just about perfect after a long Saturday walk. Couldn't fault them and wish it was my local pub!
We went here today as a bank holiday treat and it did not disappoint. It was very busy as we expected but we found a table in the garden in the sunshine. We ordered 2 ploughman's, one with gammon and one with cheddar (so we could share and try both) and they were both delicious!! There was a little bit of a wait for food because it was busy but not ridiculously long and it was such a lovely setting we didnt mind. We will definitely be going back there again
A must if you're in the New Forest. Perfect pub garden vibe, super dog / horse friendly. Great selection of ales and the ploughman's is so good! My favourite place to visit on a sunny afternoon after a long walk!
Love this place but pick a week day if possible can be busy at the weekend. Walks nearby
