Great little shop. Had two sandwiches here while I was visiting and both were excellent. Easily some of the best I've ever had. Service was fast and friendly too.
Honestly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. And I’ve eaten a lot of sandwiches. Spicy tuna is a solid 10! and the mortadella, truffle and artichoke heart was even better. Will be going back as much as possible from now on. Would recommend
Staff were super hospitable. I came at the end of the day, supplies were low, but they offered to make me a custom sandwich, which was easily one of the best I’ve had in some time. I’m making a genuine request that they add it to the menu. It was artichoke, avo, courgette & roasted tomato w/ spinach and a spicy vegan mayo on a toasted bagel (would also work as a ciabatta)
Thank you for substantially brightening my day.

Fantastic staff and amazing sandwiches! The best place to visit for lunch in Frome, every time it is 10/10. I have tried most of the sandwiches on the menu and I haven't been disappointed once. Such a friendly place too. Thanks guys, I will be back :)
Over the last 6 months I have become a regular at Hamper. The warm greeting you always receive and the fabulous sandwiches which are always so tasty and fresh. Support this local business you won't be disappointed 👌
Best sandwich ever!! Came to Frome on the way back from Bath and omg the sandwiches we had were amazing. Thank you ! X
Honestly the best sandwich i've ever had! Chose the Reuben but am planning on going back to try ever other one on the menu. Lovely friendly staff and well worth the money.
Hands down the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life. I can't stop coming back. Nothing in New York, London, or anywhere else has come close. Better salt beef bagels than Brick Lane.
Quality is thankfully matched in quantity (they are massive) and value. Buy a sandwich here or live to regret it.
I moved back to the UK (London) 14 years ago. In that time I learned most Brits I came across thought one slice of ham between two pieces of soggy white bread made a sandwich. I recently moved to Frome where, I kid you not, almost 10 people told me to eat a sandwich (ANY SANDWICH) from The Hamper within my first 48 hours. So I gave it a go...
Daaaaaaamn. In short, the sandwiches at The Hamper are LEGIT! When I first ordered the prawn sandwich with avocado, rocket and paprika I thought to myself "self, don't get too excited, it's likely just another standard English prawn sandwich". I am so glad to say I was WRONG. It was bloody delicious! A big criticism from top chefs is something like "if you're going to mention the paprika or single out an ingredient, then I better taste it ". Well, taste it I did and it was perfectly balanced with all the other ingredients. My trusted English friends (who know one ingredient DOES NOT make a sandwich) all have their own favourites. That just shows you can order any item from the menu knowing all your senses will thank you each and every single time. Overall the sandwiches are big, fresh, consistent and delicious. So GO because I promise you, if you haven't been to The Hamper yet, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!
What a brilliant place this is, a proper 'old school' sandwich shop making sandwiches to order.
A relatively small menu and high quality ingredients and keeping things simple mean that although we had to queue we were soon served and off to eat our delicious sandwiches. I know where we'll be going next time we visit Frome.
