I’ve been staying at the Premier Inn at Gargrave for 4 nights, and on my first night I decided to try the Masons Arms in the village for my evening meal. As I walked inside the gentleman behind the bar, presumably the landlord, was very welcoming and helpful. The food I ordered was spot on, I went for the Masons steak and ale pie, very tasty. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I have been coming back to this pub for my dinner every night this week! If you find a great place to eat, why bother going elsewhere?! The food has been good each night I’ve been here. Over the different nights I’ve tried the lasagne, chicken mushroom and tarragon pie, and the luxury cottage pie, all very good indeed. Good value too at under £10 for each of those meals. The pub itself seems like a really great local. Several of the local regulars said hello to me even just on my second night, so it’s a very friendly place too. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Masons Arms.
Very busy when we went for a meal on a Sunday evening but we had pre booked our table so were seated straight away. The landlord and staff were very welcoming. Menu was very varied and everything coming from the kitchen looked delicious. We enjoyed our meal and good portion size too. Very relaxed pub which is just what we wanted. Enjoyed the evening very much.
Having previously visited this establishment twice while taking a pause from boating on the nearby Leeds & Liverpool canal, we were staying nearby on a short break and decided to return. We met friends here also and between the four of us we had: fish and chips, cod loin, steak and kidney pudding, and steak and ale pie. All four meals were excellent and very good value also. Needless to say, the beer was excellent too. Must mention the landlord and staff also. A warm and friendly welcome was the icing on the cake.
Highly recommended!
The staff here are incredibly welcoming and the cask ales are very well kept. The food looks amazing and I was talking to a friendly local at the bar who says it’s the best pub food in the village. I’d definitely recommend the beer and from the looks of it the food and accommodation is great too!
Lovely friendly and welcoming pub, we called for something to eat, very good menu and absolutely amazing food, all the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. I would highly recommend.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, there is a good selection of real ales, the quality and quantity of the food from the 'bits and bobs' menu is excellent, my food arrived in no time at all, well recommended after a day out walking in the Dales. The pub has a very nice restaurant area and also a general area where dogs are allowed. There are two large covered areas to the rear of the pub where you can also eat and are dog friendly with water bowls provided for your pooch. The pub is located just around the corner from Gargrave train station and a few minutes walk from the main area of Gargrave, ideal if you are travelling to or from Gargrave. I will definitely return to the pub when I visit the area again.
We stopped off for a late afternoon meal on a Monday. The pub was busy with both locals and visitors, which created a lovely atmosphere. The food we ordered came quickly and was simply wonderful: loaded wedges (with veggie chilli and meat chilli options); fish cakes on a chowder base; and a falafel burger with excellent chips and onion rings… all four of us really enjoyed what we ordered and would definitely recommend this warm and inviting place.
Came highly recommended, did not disappoint, service was a bit chaotic being a Monday lunchtime after a busy weekend. All food cooked to order, nice portions, you do need to book for evenings
Lovely, homely pub with friendly service and welcoming clientèle. The food was delicious and plentiful!
Food was fantastic, staff where very friendly, a real locals pub ,.don't expect restaurant seating but more pub layout , 10/10 would recommend
Great village pub in Gargrave. Real local pub atmosphere with excellent food. Booking a table is recommended. Dog friendly in bar and beer garden.
Stopped for lunch in this proper oldie worldie pub. Tasty food at reasonable prices. The staff and locals were friendly and made us feel very welcome.
