I believe this is as authentic Japanese food as you can get in Glasgow. The place is small, so I recommend booking in advance, but it takes you away from rainy Scotland to the colourful traditional Asian location. The menu is distinctive and full of well-known Japanese-style dishes, but it also contains few surprising gems, which allows you to be a bit more adventurous with your choice. You can try some traditional drinks and liquors, which compliment the whole experience. The staff was really chilled- in a positive way. They looked after our table without overwhelming us. Overall, a great place with great food.
What an incredibly decorated little ramen shop on Ashton lane in Glasgow! We were greeted with the warm smell of ramen as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere was cozy and the food was incredible. On this visit we had ordered Katsu curry, Ramen Gyoza and fries. Portions were worth the price. We also ordered Japanese melon and Grape sodas which were delicious and sweet. There is plenty of other options to chose from on the menu and if you are in the area please visit. We were lucky to get a seat because as soon as we walked in other customers followed so booking a table is advised to avoid disappointment.
Always amazing food, and the staff are always nice... But! I don't understand why a "service charge" is added automatically to the bill. Shouldn't we get a choice whether we give a tip? I think it's quite cheeky.
Happened upon this gem when on a recent day out in the West End. It’s small, so book in advance. The food is amazing.
I had Sansho Pepper Ramen, which for those unfamiliar, is a chicken broth consisting of chashu chicken, charred baby corn, bean sprouts, spring onions and sansho pepper. I was advised by our server that it is very spicy and has the potential to numb my face! Now, this intrigued me and possessing a somewhat delicate constitution I knew I would probably regret it before too long but it was so good at the time. Sides of togarashi fries: skinny fries coated in a special blend of togarashi seasoning, crispy onions and nori seaweed; and also chicken gyozas rounded off the perfect meal. It was all washed down by a tasty pint of Asahi lager.
No room for dessert, unfortunately. Maybe next time. The servers are lovely and very helpful in explaining the menu and dishes, which are very reasonably priced. I love the decor and atmosphere and highly recommend a visit.
I ate here whilst passing through Glasgow and so glad I did. The food was fantastic, possibly the best gyoza and ramen I've ever had. Nice glass of Japanese whisky to finish too.
Wow! Last night my boyfriend and I had the best ramen we’ve had in the U.K.! The place is super small and cosy (please book in advance as you don’t want to miss out on eating here!) Delicious food and an impressive amount of vegan options too. I definitely recommend trying the homemade yuzu drink! We will definitely be back.
The food was delicious and the service was great. I would definitely recommend it. I had the Katsu Curry, and it was amazing!
Had a great time having Japanese cuisine in the very own Ramen Dayo Ashton Lane. I had shitake ramen which was okish. They should add some more vegan options. My friends had chicken dishes which were good as per them. The green tea matcha ice cream was my favorite. Altogether a good experience.
Amazing little spot - food was excellent (great vegan options), service was really friendly and fast service. Will absolutely be returning!!
The place is cozy and nice. Great food and friendly staff
