Had dinner here and the food was superb, steaks were amazing, however the monkfish stole the show. Top wines and top service. Will return for sure..
Got an itison deal for a chateaubriand, which came with chips, a sauce and a welcome drink.
Before the chateaubriand I tried the black pudding and egg starter, this was really delicious I would definitely have this again.
After waiting a while longer than expected on the chateaubriand we asked a waitress if this was on its way. She went back into the kitchen and emerged shortly after with our food, I think they may have forgotten about us!
The steak was really good, it was cooked exactly how we wanted it, we reminded the waiter to bring our chips as he seemed to have forgotten them.
Overall the meal was really nice, service needed improving but I would return as this was a good deal.
The drinks with the deal were to be served at the Bo'Vine bar next door, we were happy to have some after dinner cocktails. The bartender made us up a couple of Long Island iced teas which were very good.
7/10 good food with nice service. I would recommend & return.
I can't wait to go back!. The service here is fantastic. They make you feel welcome by hanging up your coats and going the extra mile to ensure you have an exceptionally brilliant dining experience. The atmosphere is one of evening elegance with a touch of dark romance; perfect for a date. I had a sirloin steak and it was cooked to perfection. The wine list is impressive (I recommend the pinot noir) and the black pudding starter is exquisite. I cannot wait to revisit Bo'vine in the future!
Great pre-theatre meal. Black pudding starter and steak both lovely. Found it pretentious and unnecessary for the food to be carried out on trays but oh well!
Stunning meal at Bo'Vine tonight. Thoroughly recommend both Asparagus and Prawn Cocktail to begin. The highlight without doubt was the Chateaubriand! One of the best steaks had within the UK! 10/10 with very pleasant and attentive staff also.
Really nice surroundings followed by a beautifully cooked steak dinner, staff could have been more attentive but would return for the food alone
All I can say is WOW! My favourites were the White Chocolate & Caramel Bavoise, Vanilla Pod Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae with Profiteroles. I had no complaints about those 3. I could have eaten them again and again. The others? I wasn’t such a great fan of unfortunately. I found the Brownie rather dry, it needed a cream with it to give some moisture. The Iced Popcorn Parfait with a Salted Caramel Foam was far too sickly sweet. I could only have one spoonful of it before having to move on to the next dessert. The plum crumble was far too sweet for my liking as well, my mom devoured it though. I was now at the stage where I could hardly move & couldn’t face eating anything else so I didn’t try the Cherry Oil Cake. I left it for my mom to try, which she said was extremely nice. I just couldn’t eat anymore.
Excellent presentation & food was delicious
We ordered the pair and blue cheese tart & beetroot starter.
Ox Cheek was so tender, wonderful & and the salmon was delicious for the mains.
Dessert was rice pudding and apple crumble. Yeah!
Food was amazing, the fillet steak with onion rings were excellent and my partner was very pleased too with the rib eye. The staff were very friendly and made our dining experience one to remember. Prices were a little steep compared to other restaurants but I can't fault the food, presentation or taste as was delicious 😋
The beets, Ox cheek and apple crisp were divine.
Reservations are highly encouraged.
Delicious steak, great atmosphere, excellent service. Natalia has been attentive and looked after us very well. We will be definitely coming back.
Went for a late evening meal on a Wednesday, quiet night due to time but food was decent, venue was clean, tidy and well presenting; unfortunately the evening was ruined by an outrageously rude table sat beside us that had some issues with their meal, which is perfectly fine to make a complaint but their attitude and smug remarks to the waiting staff were horrendous and frankly disgusting to hear.
Complete lack of taste in how that table acted and honestly ruined our evening just listening to them talk pompously about themselves after they complaint and derided all the staff members.
The staff that night (didn't catch any of their names but one was called Julia - seen on our bill, especially the blonde haired girl that seemed like the supervisor or head waitress) were so patient and professional in dealing with them and couldn't be more apologetic to them which I would have frankly said they didn't deserve for the attitude that they were throwing back to the staff.
The ambience was great, food was lovely and came on time, made to specific requests too. And yes, tasty. Staff were friendly, helpful and kind, indeed a credit to the organisation.
Overall, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would be back again and again.
Delicious chateaubriand as always, lovely, attentive staff, and in beautiful surroundings, you can't ask for much more on a Monday night. Steak was perfect and the haggis fritter starter was very tasty, the goats cheese tomato salad was light and creamy. Overall, a great meal and can't wait for the next visit.
Very nice establishment built onto and part of the Grovesnor hotel.
Staff are very friendly upon arrival, and unbeknown to us, until 6:30pm you can order a 2 course meal for £16 (I can’t quite remember !!!) or a 3 course for a bit more, we arrived at 6:20pm and still got the deal from the fantastic waitress, I had the Liver Pate which was delicious but could of come with a little less more toast for the size of the portion, following by the Bovine Burger for my Main which was beautiful.
Great service great prices I will be back again.
This was a return visit with an Itison voucher and we enjoyed the experience once again although the kitchen service was somewhat slow on this occasion. We were well looked after by our waitress Romany who was attentive without being obtrusive and always had a friendly smile. Would recommend based on this experience and will look forward to going back in the future.
First time in Bovine. The restaurant was lovely inside, very spacious and tables far enough apart that you couldn't hear other diners conversations. Using a Groupon voucher for 4, for the Chateaubriand. We ordered some sides, Onion rings and Mac and Cheese. The starter was Black Pudding French Toast. No desserts were ordered as we were full after the meal. The food was excellent. The server was very welcoming, pleasant and seemed happy to be there. The restaurant was spotless and the toilets were clean and smelt fresh. We will be going back and have recommended Bovine to some friends already 😊😊
