Excellent presentation & food was delicious
We ordered the pair and blue cheese tart & beetroot starter.
Ox Cheek was so tender, wonderful & and the salmon was delicious for the mains.
Dessert was rice pudding and apple crumble. Yeah!

Food was amazing, the fillet steak with onion rings were excellent and my partner was very pleased too with the rib eye. The staff were very friendly and made our dining experience one to remember. Prices were a little steep compared to other restaurants but I can't fault the food, presentation or taste as was delicious 😋

The beets, Ox cheek and apple crisp were divine.
Reservations are highly encouraged.

Delicious steak, great atmosphere, excellent service. Natalia has been attentive and looked after us very well. We will be definitely coming back.

Went for a late evening meal on a Wednesday, quiet night due to time but food was decent, venue was clean, tidy and well presenting; unfortunately the evening was ruined by an outrageously rude table sat beside us that had some issues with their meal, which is perfectly fine to make a complaint but their attitude and smug remarks to the waiting staff were horrendous and frankly disgusting to hear.
Complete lack of taste in how that table acted and honestly ruined our evening just listening to them talk pompously about themselves after they complaint and derided all the staff members.
The staff that night (didn't catch any of their names but one was called Julia - seen on our bill, especially the blonde haired girl that seemed like the supervisor or head waitress) were so patient and professional in dealing with them and couldn't be more apologetic to them which I would have frankly said they didn't deserve for the attitude that they were throwing back to the staff.

The ambience was great, food was lovely and came on time, made to specific requests too. And yes, tasty. Staff were friendly, helpful and kind, indeed a credit to the organisation.
Overall, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would be back again and again.

Delicious chateaubriand as always, lovely, attentive staff, and in beautiful surroundings, you can't ask for much more on a Monday night. Steak was perfect and the haggis fritter starter was very tasty, the goats cheese tomato salad was light and creamy. Overall, a great meal and can't wait for the next visit.

Very nice establishment built onto and part of the Grovesnor hotel.
Staff are very friendly upon arrival, and unbeknown to us, until 6:30pm you can order a 2 course meal for £16 (I can’t quite remember !!!) or a 3 course for a bit more, we arrived at 6:20pm and still got the deal from the fantastic waitress, I had the Liver Pate which was delicious but could of come with a little less more toast for the size of the portion, following by the Bovine Burger for my Main which was beautiful.
Great service great prices I will be back again.

This was a return visit with an Itison voucher and we enjoyed the experience once again although the kitchen service was somewhat slow on this occasion. We were well looked after by our waitress Romany who was attentive without being obtrusive and always had a friendly smile. Would recommend based on this experience and will look forward to going back in the future.

First time in Bovine. The restaurant was lovely inside, very spacious and tables far enough apart that you couldn't hear other diners conversations. Using a Groupon voucher for 4, for the Chateaubriand. We ordered some sides, Onion rings and Mac and Cheese. The starter was Black Pudding French Toast. No desserts were ordered as we were full after the meal. The food was excellent. The server was very welcoming, pleasant and seemed happy to be there. The restaurant was spotless and the toilets were clean and smelt fresh. We will be going back and have recommended Bovine to some friends already 😊😊

What a nice place to dine.
A group of us gathered for a farewell meal after a tour of Scotland.
The wait staff was in my experience exceptional . The food very tasty.
And the ambiance delightful .
This really put the cork in the bottle of fine memories.

We had booked for quite early on a Friday evening, the restaurant was quiet when we arrived (5.45pm) however we expected this to get much busier given the prominent Glasgow West end location however by 7.30 when we were leaving many of the tables were still empty. Not through fault of the restaurant staff as they were great, we were just a bit surprised that it wasn't generally busier.
Food and service was fantastic

Fabulous meal on Friday night. 3 courses were all lovely and the wine goes down too easily. They had a jazz night with some live music also. Staff are always absolutely lovely in this restaurant and already planning our next time to visit.

Truly excellent dinner service. I came to try the haggis bonbon appetisers which had been recommended since the Hilton no longer offers any with breakfast. I was able to choose a secluded little corner and get on with a little work over a glass of wine completely uninterrupted. Faultless, and excellent pudding besides.

Highly recommend having dined here several times whilst staying as a hotel guest. The quality of the food is excellent with some creative and innovative menu choices and a good selection of wines. Pricing is very agreeable, the £30 3-course menu is outstanding value. Dining experience is rounded off by very attentive and professional staff and a pleasant atmosphere.

Great night with Family! Food was very tasty. Service was a bit sporadic as some of our party waited a long time. This lead to cold mains.

Father’s Day gift from the kids, chateaubriand and Prosecco for two. The meat was cooked to perfection. I would have preferred a red wine (unable to change) but the Prosecco was okay. Staff excellent. We went early so not very busy but that was fine, we were well looked after.

Had dinner here and the food was superb, steaks were amazing, however the monkfish stole the show. Top wines and top service. Will return for sure..

Got an itison deal for a chateaubriand, which came with chips, a sauce and a welcome drink.
Before the chateaubriand I tried the black pudding and egg starter, this was really delicious I would definitely have this again.
After waiting a while longer than expected on the chateaubriand we asked a waitress if this was on its way. She went back into the kitchen and emerged shortly after with our food, I think they may have forgotten about us!
The steak was really good, it was cooked exactly how we wanted it, we reminded the waiter to bring our chips as he seemed to have forgotten them.
Overall the meal was really nice, service needed improving but I would return as this was a good deal.
The drinks with the deal were to be served at the Bo'Vine bar next door, we were happy to have some after dinner cocktails. The bartender made us up a couple of Long Island iced teas which were very good.

Chateaubriand meal. Wow the Tenderloin beef we had was amazing and the flavour was incredible would certainly go back. The staff were attentive and enjoyed our visit .

7/10 good food with nice service. I would recommend & return.

Really thought that if you connect the name of your premises to beef and are part of the Hilton you could expect that the kitchen would know how to cook beef! Apartantly not. Got to be the most bland pieces of over cooked meat ever presented. Both sent back only to be brought back two equally bad plates. Neither cooked as asked. No flavour or colour. In total four fillets wasted. How can you get something so easy so wrong? Credit to the staff who were very attentive just a shame that the chef was either missing or needs to be taught hoe to cook meat. Would avoid at all costs as there are several places in the west end where you could get a great piece of meat cooked properly and for the same price if not less. Come on Hilton send your chefs back to school.

Go for a fish supper afterwards as you will need it. My lamb steak was a tiny medallion (just one). Even after i tipped my 2 side dishes of salad and onion rings onto the plate, the entire plate looked like something only a starving model will consider worth eating.

The starter tasted great - both bites went down well. Shame there wasn't more.

Pudding super - doughnuts in sauce. Bit more substantial than the rest of the meal.

Restaurant price was perfect for what you got if you were trying to lose weight and watch calorie intake.

Bit of an expensive disappointment. As part of the Hilton group, and looking at the prices e.g. £6.50 for a cocktail and £20 for a sirloin steak, we had expected our meal to be top notch. The ham hock starter was completely bland with only a tiny dribble of chutney to add any flavour at all. We ordered two steaks both of which arrived cold (not even tepid) and on unheated plates; they had obviously been ready long before we were. Accompanying chips, potatoes and veg. were also not hot. Creme brulee sweet was nothing special. To round-off a just-about average meal the staff started setting up (loudly) the restaurant for the following day's breakfast. At £110.00 for two including drinks and wine this meal which was meant to be a special occasion, was very disappointing & we won't be returning or recommending Bovine to our circle of friends. On the positive side the service from the staff was excellent; discreet and attentive.

I can't wait to go back!. The service here is fantastic. They make you feel welcome by hanging up your coats and going the extra mile to ensure you have an exceptionally brilliant dining experience. The atmosphere is one of evening elegance with a touch of dark romance; perfect for a date. I had a sirloin steak and it was cooked to perfection. The wine list is impressive (I recommend the pinot noir) and the black pudding starter is exquisite. I cannot wait to revisit Bo'vine in the future!

Great pre-theatre meal. Black pudding starter and steak both lovely. Found it pretentious and unnecessary for the food to be carried out on trays but oh well!

Stunning meal at Bo'Vine tonight. Thoroughly recommend both Asparagus and Prawn Cocktail to begin. The highlight without doubt was the Chateaubriand! One of the best steaks had within the UK! 10/10 with very pleasant and attentive staff also.
Northern Monkey
Great evening wonderful staff despite my ribeye having to be replaced as it was unedible. A bad cut of meat replaced by a wonderful sirloin

Lovely meal ruined.. Had a lovely meal in Bo'Vine on 24/10, the food was great!
However, it was ruined by the staff setting up the tables for breakfast for the next day. All you can hear is crockery and cutlery being moved about. Of course when the staff are doing that, there is no one to attend to customers. We had to go to the bar to settle our bill. Quite disappointed, wont rush back.

Really nice surroundings followed by a beautifully cooked steak dinner, staff could have been more attentive but would return for the food alone

Great ambience. Food is superb with a brilliant Scottish theme to appetisers and Entrees. Staff very attentive. This is a must try restaurant!

On the corner of Byres Road is The Hilton Hotel & the restaurant attached is called Bo’Vine. It is a fancy steak restaurant that opened in 2010. For me their appeal is their excellent value pre-theatre menu, where you can get two courses including a rib eye steak for £14.50. We ordered drinks and I went straight to the red wine because there was no doubt in my mind that i was having steak. I’ve been in here before and they do a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir, so nice that I bought a case of it online afterwards. To start we both ordered the Stornoway black pudding, poached hens egg, pancetta & red wine jus. This, or a variation of, is a tried and tested starter with me that I know I like in restaurants. I’m sure I’ll have w

Fantastically cooked – it was such a stunningly good cut of meat I think I would’ve enjoyed it if they’d served it on a plate in front of me or thrown it at my head. The béarnaise sauce was so rich with tarragon and delicious, and although the creamed spinach was a bit heavy, I still cleaned the bowl.

All I can say is WOW! My favourites were the White Chocolate & Caramel Bavoise, Vanilla Pod Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae with Profiteroles. I had no complaints about those 3. I could have eaten them again and again. The others? I wasn’t such a great fan of unfortunately. I found the Brownie rather dry, it needed a cream with it to give some moisture. The Iced Popcorn Parfait with a Salted Caramel Foam was far too sickly sweet. I could only have one spoonful of it before having to move on to the next dessert. The plum crumble was far too sweet for my liking as well, my mom devoured it though. I was now at the stage where I could hardly move & couldn’t face eating anything else so I didn’t try the Cherry Oil Cake. I left it for my mom to try, which she said was extremely nice. I just couldn’t eat anymore.

I know Byres Road pretty well as I work nearby so go for post-work dinner regularly.

I’m sure I’ll have written about my black pudding love previously so I’ll not bore you. Anyway, this dish is like posh comfort food – it’s filling, a bit sinful but I know what I’m getting when I order it. The egg was perfectly runny and the jus was tasty.

The steak on the pre-theatre was chargrilled rib eye with triple cooked chips and a peppercorn sauce. I’m more of a bearnaise girl so I asked for bearnaise instead of peppercorn & I was told that there would be an extra charge for this.
The steaks arrived and we’d ordered a portion of truffled macaroni alongside it to try. Both of us enjoy a good macaroni but, shock horror, we didn’t like it. The pasta used was macaroni (I have a bugbear about places advertising macaroni then serving other types of pasta!) and I could taste truffle so as the description goes it was pretty accurate but we never enjoyed the dish. The sauce was like a white sauce with added truffle and it seriously lacked flavour & seasoning. We only ate a couple of mouthfuls each and then pushed it to the side.

On the other hand, Bo’Vine do excellent chips. Big, chunky fellas that are perfect for steak and dipping in a pot of steak sauce. They have obviously spent time and effort crafting a good quality product and I appreciate this.

Our steaks had that nice chargrilled flavour & the meat was flavoursome. My medium rare steak was undercooked but I enjoyed it nonetheless. We never discussed until we were almost finished that my dining companions rare steak was overcooked so I think they got our steaks mixed up when they put them down. I have always wondered how steak restaurant staff know which steak is which and what their system is. Do they put coloured cocktail sticks in them and remove them on the pass? Anyway, it’s an easy mistake to make & didn’t ruin our meal although I know some diners would have sent them back.

We ploughed on like the troopers that we are to have a dessert to write about. A pannacotta and a brownie were ordered for reporting purposes. The vanilla pannacotta was served with ice-cream & was rich and creamy but lacking in something. Another taste like a coulis would have added a lacking element to the dish.

My chocolate and peanut butter brownie was soft but not moist enough for me and lacking in peanut butter flavour. It was fine but not fantastic – a real shame because I have tried the doughnuts & sundae in here on previous occasions and they were both delicious.

When the bill arrived I had indeed been charged extra for my bearnaise sauce – £3 extra. This is where they make their money then. Hmm.

The reason I wasn’t sure whether to publish this post was because I enjoyed this visit less than I’d enjoyed previous visits so I felt it unfair to write negative feedback. I have been trying to pinpoint my general thoughts about Bo’Vine and this is what I’ve come up with. It’s a bit pretentious in decor & formal staff but this probably does not bother much of their clientele of businessmen and women staying at the hotel. Personally I feel that if they toned that down then it would be a better place. The steak is of a high quality but for me this is firmly in the pre-theatre category because it’s expensive and, quite frankly, there are other Glasgow steak restaurants that I like the ambience of better. But, the pre-theatre menu offers great value & it’s the only steak place around Byres Road, and I like the wine. They are also very patient letting you sit for a while after your meal so that’s another plus point. I’ll go back but I guess Bo’Vine has captured my head but not my heart. I don’t feel romantic about it in the same way I often do about places that I’m loyal to. I’m a bit of a sap like that! I’ve always liked the Michel De Montaigne quote ‘the art of dining well is no slight art, the pleasure not a slight pleasure’ and this is how I see it. Maybe Bo’Vine is a grower, we’ll see.
